How To Get League Of Legends Mythic Essence
Want to get some goodies in League of Legends but have no Mythic Essence? Here's how to obtain it.
Amidst all of the League of Legends Season 12 goodness that has included the Durability Update, skins galore, and more, Riot Games decided to introduce a brand-new currency that is a vital part of unlocking Prestige Skins. We’re talking about, of course, Mythic Essence.
Used as a replacement for Prestige Points and Gemstones, Mythic Essence is a fancy new way to either get some new cool-looking skins or those highly coveted prestigious skins that were available for a limited time. It can be obtained through various means and has its own rotating store to boot.
That being said… Are you looking for an all-encompassing guide on everything Mythic Essence? Well look no further—we’ve got you covered.
What Is League of Legends Mythic Essence
As aforementioned, Mythic Essence is League of Legends' newest currency that came in to replace Prestige Points and Gemstones in the earlier parts of Season 12.
Players can use Mythic Essence to buy new Mythic Skins, Hextech Skins, or unvaulted Prestige Skins. Unvaulted Prestige Skins are Prestige Skins that were previously put up for sale for a limited time and make their return. Additionally, there are extra goodies such as Wards, Chromas, Emotes, and Random Skin Shards up for sale.
It’s worth noting that all of the skins will be part of a rotating store, which means that every month the Mythic Store will rotate, while the new Mythic and Hextech skins will rotate every three months.

How To Get Mythic Essence In League of Legends
Apart from Event Passes which are purchased, Mythic Essence cannot be bought, only earned in-game. Even then, the Event Passes only make it so players get 25 Mythic Essence as a drop upon completing Milestone Missions, meaning it’s not a straight-up buy.
But for those looking to go the free route, after all, League of Legends is a free game, there are various ways to go about getting their Mythic Essence. Here’s the rundown.
- Hextech Chests - Players will obtain 10 Mythic Essence
- Masterwork Chests - Players will obtain 5 Mythic Essence
- Every 50 levels after level 150 - Players will obtain 10 Mythic Essence
- Milestone Missions - Players will obtain 25 Mythic Essence upon completion
It’s worth noting that Hextech and Masterwork Chests have a low percentage to drop Mythic Essence, with a 3.6 per cent for the former, and a 4.2 per cent for the latter.

What is available in the League of Legends Mythic Store? (June 2022)
Starting in April 2022, Riot decided to unvault six Prestige Skins right off the bat for the next three months. Apart from the additions of the new Prestige Ocean Song Seraphine, the store as of June doesn’t really have anything new to offer.
As of right now, the store includes a number of new Prestige Skins as well as some old ones. Hextech Skins like the all-new Ashen Knight Pyke and Ocean Song Seraphine are bringing on some new flare while old skins like K/DA Kai’Sa and Spirit Blossom Teemo are looking to entice players once again.
