There's a big mystery about who the next League of Legends champion is, and with us now well into 2023, it seems like they could be right around the corner. League of Legends has seen 162 champions join its line-up since the very beginning, with it boasting an impressive roster of varied characters that cover the different roles and niches expected of a MOBA.
Luckily, Riot Games are fairly open about the possibility of new characters and has already teased a lot about the next two champions set to come to Summoner's Rift. So, if you want an answer to the question, "who is the next League of Legends champion?", we've got you covered.

Who Is The Next League Of Legends Champion?
The previous year saw Riot Games add five champions to League of Legends, with the most recent one being K'Sante, who was added in early November.
So far, we have information on four distinct champions set to come to the game over the course of the year. Two of them are currently named and were revealed back in the August 2022 champions roadmap, while two more were teased in the January LoL Pls video.
According to the roadmap, the two revealed champions are called Milio and Naafiri, with the former set to release first sometime in early 2023 according to Riot China. They also revealed some details about what roles these champions will take: Milio being a support that can heal with fire spells, and Naafiri being an assassin that can inhabit more than one body.
We don't have an exact date for either champion, but Riot has revealed the order of champion changes and additions, meaning we can make a guess. The upcoming February 8 patch is set to feature a rework of Aurelion Sol, which will be followed by the release of Milio. This would mean that Milio could be released in Patch 13.4 at the earliest, sometime in February.
