LEGO Fortnite is one of the latest modes added to Fortnite, and while it's a mode within the legendary free-to-play shooter, you may want to know what its age rating is to see if you or someone you know will be old enough to play it.
Here, we'll be breaking down everything you need to know about the game's age rating and explaining the parental controls that have been put in place to help encourage and ensure online safety for younger gamers ready to dive into LEGO Fortnite.
What is the LEGO Fortnite age rating?
According to Andy Robertson, a games journalist and founder of Family Gaming Database, LEGO Fortnite has an age rating of PEGI 7 in the UK, meaning that anyone aged seven and above can play. This can also be found when you enter the LEGO Fortnite mode in the bottom left of the screen (as you'll see below).
This is in contrast to the base Fortnite game that has a PEGI 12 rating. This disparity in ratings is likely due to the overarching difference in content between the Battle Royale and LEGO mode, which is aimed more at a family environment.
What are the LEGO Fortnite parental controls?
As seen in the LEGO Fortnite Parent’s Guide, there are various controls parents can use in LEGO Fortnite to ensure that their child remains in a safe and content-appropriate environment when playing the game – especially since it is largely an online experience.
These features include voice and text chat permissions, in-game purchasing restrictions and the use of PINs to accept friend requests. While the worlds created in LEGO Fortnite are largely contained, these just help to add a little extra safety to the experience.
That’s everything you need to know about the age rating of LEGO Fortnite and it’s various in-game islands. For more on the mode, be sure to check out our Fortnite homepage for helpful guides like how to set a respawn location or the differences between Sandbox and Survival modes.
