All we know about Light No Fire, from gameplay details to trailer
Light No Fire is the next game from No Man's Sky developer Hello Games, and looks to bring a similar degree of wonder and expansiveness to a fantasy world.
Light No Fire stunned many with its announcement at The Game Awards, while others were left sceptical. While massive improvements have been made, many still remember the disastrous launch of No Man's Sky, Hello Games' previous title, causing many to remain cautiously optimistic.
While Light No Fire seems to share some DNA with NMS, it is clear that this new game is carving its own path, so let's discuss what we know so far about it.
Light No Fire gameplay details
While it would be utterly reductive to call this game the fantasy version of No Man's Sky, there is a noticeable similarity between the two. While the scale is completely different, they are both open-ended survival games with procedural worlds, one with a few more worlds than the other.
Light No Fire seems to take the ethos of NMS in a different direction, with a focus on different aspects. Rather than exploring an endless galaxy, you share a gigantic world, similar in scale to our own, with others. You can explore, or you can put down roots and build a community with your friends or other players.
The game seems to be playable from both first and third-person perspectives, and gameplay activities include exploring, crafting, and combat. This very much feels like the kind of game that can be whatever you make of it.
Trailer for Light No Fire
The reveal of Light No Fire came with the Announcement Trailer at The Game Awards in December 2023. This trailer showed us quite a lot of what the game hopes to be, as it features a procedural world the size of Earth where players can join up, explore and survive together, as well as experience a new kind of role-playing game.
In the trailer, we see all kinds of locations and creatures, as well as much of what players can do in the game. This includes exploring, riding on animals, flying on dragons, swimming under the sea, and fighting all kinds of fantasy monsters.
That is all we know so far about Light No Fire, but we will be back with updates as more news comes in. Check out our trending homepage for news on many upcoming releases, like Metaphor: ReFantazo, Marvel's Blade, and OD, the upcoming project from Hideo Kojima.
