The latest patch for League of Legends: Wild Rift, patch 5.1, features a new Champion in Kalista and a whole host of other changes including new skins for Fizz and more.

From a new ranked season to balance changes for a variety of Champions, this patch has some pretty substantial changes for the game. There's also a host of changes to Runes including some new Keystones, so it's worth checking them out to see what's being added.

Kalista, the Spear of Vengeance

A specter of wrath and retribution, Kalista is the undying spirit of vengeance, an armored nightmare summoned from the Shadow Isles to hunt deceivers and traitors. The betrayed may cry out in blood to be avenged, but Kalista only answers those willing to pay with their very souls. Those who become the focus of Kalista's wrath should make their final peace, for any pact sealed with this grim hunter can only end with the cold, piercing fire of her soul-spears.

Kalista will be released on April 11 at 00:01 UTC.

Gameplay

Ixtali Scorpion

  • An elemental magic circle has been added to the alcove in the Baron lane.
  • Between 2 minutes to 12 minutes, champions can summon the Ixtali Scorpion into the battlefield when they stand on the magic circle for a short time.
  • The Ixtali Scorpion uses ranged AoE attacks and assists players in pushing lanes when summoned. All gold gains obtained go to the champion that summoned it.
  • The Ixtali Scorpion can be summoned again 75 seconds after its death.

Slow Resist

  • Adjusted the interaction between slow and slow resist effects in some champions' abilities.
    • The slow effect from Tryndamere's Mocking Shout is now affected by slow resist.
    • The slow effect that Blitzcrank applies to himself in Overdrive is now affected by slow resist.
    • Self-applied slow effects caused by abilities are not affected by slow resist for other champions.
    • Slow effects caused by Fear, Charm, or when the target is pulled towards a direction are not affected by slow resist.
  • When slow is applied multiple times, slow resist will be calculated individually for each instance of slow first. The final slow effect will then be calculated based on the total number of slow stacks the champion has.

Super Long-Range Ability Display

  • Targets within the range indicator of super long-range abilities (e.g., Lux's Final Spark, Jinx's Super Mega Death Rocket!, and Ezreal's Trueshot Barrage) will trigger the ability mini-cam. If multiple enemies are within the range indicator at the same time, the mini-cam will display the enemy nearest to the champion.

Game Effects Optimisation

Strategy Panel Optimisations

  • The strategy panel now opens up to the Scoreboard tab by default.

Situational Smart Quick Chat Messages

  • Quick Chat messages will be generated and recommended in real-time based on factors including but not limited to the champion you are using, the lane you are in, enemy activity, which stage of the game you are in, and how much gold you have.
  • When recommended Quick Chat messages are available for you in a particular setting, they will be displayed in the Quick Chat section.
  • No more than 2 smart in-game Quick Chat messages will be recommended at any one time.
  • Smart in-game Quick Chat messages will not overwrite the Quick Chat messages you have set outside of a game. They can be scrolled along with Quick Chat messages set by other players.

Flash Combo

  • Added a toggle for Flash Combo in Settings.

Extra Bits

  • Fixed the issue where if players tap the cheering up Poro icons in the loading screen, the in-game chatbox may not appear.
  • Fixed the issue where casting Flash in the direction of the target knocked Airborne by Jarvan IV's Demacian Standard-Dragon Strike combo causes the target's Airborne indicator bar to reset.
  • Fixed the issue where Aurelion Sol's Singularity can be used to kill a summoned Rift Herald.
  • Fixed the issue where Warwick follows Aurelion Sol's movement after clamping on to him with Jaws of the Beast while Aurelion Sol is dashing with Astral Flight.
  • Fixed the issue where damage from Zoe's First Strike would awaken targets she had put to sleep.
  • Fixed the issue where Lux's allies do not receive the second phase of Prismatic Barrier's shielding when it is cast at maximum distance.
