Any time you're not on the ground looting, you'll be in one of your trusty Marauders ships, letting you get in and out of each raid in the midst of danger. Loot is the name of the game in Marauders, but what could be bigger and better to steal than a whole ship? So, if you're wanting to find out all there is to know about the Marauders ships, including how to craft, steal, and use them, then make sure to carry on reading.

Marauders Ships: Full List

Before we get onto the actual mechanics of the Marauders ships, you're first going to want to know what ships are actually available to use in the game. While your trusty Rustbucket will always be there no matter how many times you die, you're going to want to upgrade it eventually as it's not exactly the most competent means of travel or combat.

Here's the full list of Marauders ships that you can craft and use:

  • Rustbucket - Starting ship
  • Scout Frigate - Gen 2 ship
  • Interceptor Frigate - Faster but less armour
  • Heavy Frigate - Slower but more armour
  • Vulture Frigate - Strong armour and speed
  • Capital Frigate - Largest ship in the game

There's plenty of different variants to use if you want to change up your playstyle. If you find yourself skilled enough to dodge incoming fire, then make use of the Interceptor's speedy build. However, if you want to be the tank that dominates the skies, then board the Heavy Frigate to outmuscle most other ships.

How To Use The Marauders Ships

Marauders Ships how to use

As a marauder inside your ship, you'll have a couple of different options. The main thing you'll want to do is head to the cockpit to actually fly your ship, and if you're solo, engage in combat too. Any subsequent players in your crew can use modules like turrets and recon to aid in any battles or navigation you want to complete. All you need to do to use any of these functions is head up to each of the periscopes and hit the action button, which is usually mapped to the 'F' key.

Once you're driving your ship, the controls are thankfully very simple. Just use WASD to move around, and then the spacebar to raise and left CTRL to lower your ship. If you're flying the ship all by yourself, you can also use the left click to fire the turrets if there are any nearby players.

When flying around the map you will have a couple of options. You can head to the main interior station, where all you need to do is dock into one of the yellow highlighted areas. Or you can use the time outside to engage in combat with other marauders, if you prefer to fight in the air than on the ground.

Finally, when you've got all that you want out of a raid, head to one of the extraction stations to exit out safely with all of the gear and loot that you picked up.

How To Craft Ships In Marauders

Crafting each of the Marauders ships is actually very easy to do, and can be done with just a handful of materials. You will need to unlock the ability to craft each ship however, and that is done with a combination of Skill PTs and dollars, and also after reaching a specific level threshold.

Here are all the details of what you'll need to unlock the craft for all of the Marauders ships:

Ship Name Level Required Skill PTs required Dollars required
Scout Frigate 5 1 720
Interceptor Frigate 14 7 2,500
Heavy Frigate 18 8 3,250
Vulture Frigate 23 9 3,500
Capital Frigate 35 12 12,000

How To Board And Steal Other Marauders Ships

Marauders Ships how to steal

If you don't have the materials needed to craft the ship you want, or perhaps you're in a more nefarious mood, then boarding and stealing other players ships is definitely the way to go. There are two main ways you can do this, which are to either breach an enemy ship when in space, or to enter through the airlock when docked on a station.

The first option of breaching in space is arguably the easier of the two, but it is definitely the most common, and a fate that is likely to happen to you too if you're not too careful. To do this, you'll need to hop into one of your ship's escape pod, and head towards the ship that you wish to breach.

Once you reach the vicinity of the ship, just hit the use button (default mapped to the 'F' key) to breach the vehicle and hop on board. From there, you will likely have to seek out the captain and any other crew members that lie in wait on board, but if you manage to over come them, the ship is all yours.

The other means of stealing another player's ship is to access it through the airlock when it is docked on one of the stations. To do this, you'll need to get a hold of their captain's keycard, which can only be obtained by killing them. Once you've taken them down and obtained their keycard, you'll need to find where their ship is docked, and then use their card to open up the airlock.

So, that's all you need to know about the Marauders ships, giving you all the details about using, crafting, and stealing ships in the game. If you're wondering how to play with friends in Marauders, make sure to check our guide out for more information.
