Is Master Chief Collection playable on Steam Deck?
The Master Chief Collection is playable on Steam Deck - but there is one main thing you need to be careful of.
You must make sure that you launch the game with Easy Anti-Cheat disabled, as this does not work with the Steam Deck's Proton system and could potentially risk you getting a ban.
This is the main reason why the game is clarified as 'Playable' by Valve as opposed to the full green 'Verified', as the implementation of Easy Anti-Cheat can cause issues if you are not careful.
Unfortunately, this does of course mean that multiplayer is natively unplayable when using this option, so you will just have to stick to the excellent campaigns. If, however, you are desperate to jump into multiplayer on the go, then you can install Windows onto the device and play it that way with EAC enabled - but that is a fairly cumbersome process.

Master Chief Collection Steam Deck performance
In better news though, each of the six games available in this collection can run perfectly at 60 FPS. You might need to turn down a couple of settings in the more recent titles - especially if you want to preserve the battery life - but full performance is there if you want it.
This is excellent as they are of course all first-person shooters, and ensuring the highest FPS is paramount to ensuring that it is an enjoyable experience. You might struggle a little with battery life as mentioned, but limiting some of the Steam Deck performance settings themselves might also help with that.
So, that should help you out if you were wondering if Master Chief Collection is playable on Steam Deck. If you're also wanting another Microsoft game to play on your portable device, then you'll want to find out if there is Minecraft Legends Steam Deck support.
