Pokemon GO's Primal Rumblings event has finally kicked off, making Mega Latias and Mega Latios available to catch in the game in Mega Raids. However, these legendaries will be hard to beat. Here is all you need to know in our raid counters guide.

How do you beat Mega Latias and Mega Latios?

Being not just Mega Raid bosses - but legendary ones as well - Mega Latias and Mega Latios will be especially difficult compared to normal tier 5 raid bosses. So, you’ll first need to be sure you have an entire team of six players, each with Pokemon load-outs with CP as high as possible.

In terms of Latios and Latia's weakness, both legendaries have a wide range thanks to their dual Dragon and Psychic typing - all doing a boosted 160% damage:

  • Bug
  • Dark
  • Dragon
  • Fairy
  • Ghost
  • Ice

This makes for quite a few more Mega Latias and Mega Latios Pokemon GO counters compared to other legendaries. So, if your and your teammate’s Pokemon are highly levelled and are any of the above types with equivalent movesets, you should be able to beat these Mega Latias and Mega Latios Pokemon GO raids with little issue.
