Will Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Be Remastered?
After the success of its recent title, fans want to know if Nintendo intends to bring out MetroidPrime 2 and 3 Remastered.
With the recent release of Metroid Prime Remastered, is it likely that we'll see a remaster of Metroid Prime 2 and 3? Nintendo dropped Metroid Prime Remastered into the universe having kept it as gaming's best-kept secret of the modern age.
With the franchise gearing up for a string of re-releases and new games, the developer held the secrets of Metroid Prime Remastered under lock and key until February 8 when it was released the very same day. After a gaming release phenomenon, is Nintendo planning to do the same trick twice? Or even thrice? Keep reading to find out if Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will be Remastered.
Are Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Being Remastered?
Metroid Prime Remastered is somewhat of an anomaly in the series, as Nintendo decided to randomly drop this title on our laps, exclusively to the Switch.
While the latest title dropped on a whim, there has actually been a warning about the prospect of having the rest of the trilogy remastered too. Reliable industry vocalist Jeff Grubb has claimed that Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will also be being ported for the Switch.
However, the Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remasters may not be as detailed or as defined as Metroid Prime Remastered was, and may instead be updated just enough to be able to be a reliable Switch game while still retaining the old-school Gamecube feeling.
When Will Metroid Prime 2 And 3 Be Remastered?
As for the timeline, the Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remasters might not be at the top of Nintendo's priority list.
Following the re-launch of Metroid Prime, there is also a fourth game in the works, which has been in development for over four years.
It could be Nintendo's plan to release both 2 and 3 before Metroid Prime 4's brand-new entry to the franchise, but the main bulk of its focus will now likely be weighed into taking everything it has learned from Metroid Prime Remaster and making sure the performance of 4 will live up to the esteemed reputation of the brand.
