The best ways to get Arcane Keys in Midnight Suns
Take a look at our breakdown of how to get Arcane Keys in Marvel's Midnight Suns, which help you open Arcane Chests for special rewards to use in the game.
You'll want to know how to get Arcane Keys, as they allow you to open Arcane Chests littered around the Abbey and its grounds, which contain useful bonuses. When you aren't saving the world in Midnight Suns by taking part in tactical combat, you can speak to your fellow heroes and explore the hub world, which is full of extra content to find.
One of the most prominent parts of this hub world is the Arcane Chests, but to open them, you will need to know how to get Arcane Keys in the game.
How to get Arcane Keys
Arcane Keys are items that allow you to open up Arcane Chests that are found around the Abbey grounds. Arcane Chests come in Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, however, a single key will open any of these.
It's also worth noting that if you level up your Arcane enough, you won't need keys to open Common and Rare chests at all. These chests contain a combination of cosmetic recolours, resources, combat buffs, and combat items.
There are a few different ways to earn Arcane Keys throughout Midnight Suns, and you can never actually run out of them, but as you get closer to the end of the game, you will get less and less. Below, we will run through the best ways to get Arcane Keys.
Exploration
One of the ways you will get the most Arcane Keys during your Midnight Suns playthrough is exploration of the Abbey grounds. There are a few lying around in plain sight, such as the Arcane Key below the crater, but for many of the rest, you will need access to the 'reveal' word of power. You will earn this after finishing the second Trial of the Elder Gods.
You can use the 'reveal' word of power on stone slabs with the same icon (a two-pronged fork with a semicircle in it) to summon hidden Arcane Keys. There are many of these stone slabs across the Abbey grounds for you to find, and you can easily net over a dozen this way.
Offering Bowl
At nighttime, if you travel to Agatha's Altar and stand in front of it, take the path up the stairs to the left and follow the blue torches. You will come to a glowing bowl sitting on a pedestal, which is called the Offering Bowl.
If you elect to place a random artifact in here and then use any of your words of power, you will receive an Arcane Key and a random resource. This is a great way to keep stocking up on keys consistently after finding them all around the Abbey. The catch here is that you can only do it once per night, and you will need to keep getting more artifacts to offer.
Daily Sparring
The last but least consistent way to gain Arcane Keys is from the daily sparring option in the Yard. Every day, you can choose a hero to spar with, which increases your friendship, and stats, and sometimes provides other rewards. These are random, but occasionally you will be able to get an Arcane Key out of it.
We also cover how to solve the Midnight Suns Standing Stones mystery, which gives you access to three Legendary Arcane Chests.
