Our Midnight Suns tips will ensure you have no problem fighting Lilith and her demonic forces, as you try to save the world from a supernatural invasion. Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG where you play as the mightiest Marvel superheroes in strategic, turn-based battles, while also managing relationships with them back in a hub area called the Abbey. It's a game with two very different parts, but our Midnight Suns tips will cover all the bases and make sure you know all you need to succeed.

Midnight Suns Tips: Clear Out The Weak Enemies First

Midnight Suns Tips: Clear Out The Weak Enemies First

During the combat segments of Midnight Suns, enemies are split into the categories of minions, elites, and bosses. Minions are eliminated after taking any source of damage, while the others have health bars that need to be drained before they are knocked out. When taking your turn in combat, it's worth taking out all of the minions first so you don't get overrun. Using cards with the quick perk on minions is typically the best choice, as you will get a card play refunded while still having one less enemy to deal with.

Midnight Suns Tips: Do Everything You Can To Increase Friendship Levels

Midnight Suns Tips: Do Everything You Can To Increase Friendship Levels

A large part of Midnight Suns is life back in the hub area called the Abbey. You can speak to the heroes here and increase your friendship levels with them, which results in them gaining powerful passives for combat. At the max friendship level, you also get the chance to complete their Midnight Sun challenge, which rewards you with their Legendary card. It's worth increasing your friendship with as many heroes as possible so you can make use of their passives and get powerful cards.

Midnight Suns Tips: Join Hangouts Before Going To Club Meetings

Midnight Suns Tips: Join Hangouts Before Going To Club Meetings

After every mission, you will return to the Abbey in the evening, giving you a chance to explore or talk to heroes before you go to bed. Sometimes during the evening, you can join hangouts with heroes to increase your friendship with them or take part in club meetings, which result in new cards. Make sure you always complete a hangout before going to a club meeting, as if you do it the opposite way, you will miss your chance to hang out with other characters.

Midnight Suns Tips: Use Your Combat Items Every Mission

Midnight Suns Tips: Use Your Combat Items Every Mission

While each hero has a specific deck that they use in combat, they also share combat items, which are special cards that can be played for free to draw more cards, increase heroism, gain more movement, and much more. You can have a max of three of these in each mission (if you get the right upgrades in the forge) and considering the low cost of making them, it's worth being liberal with their usage to your benefit.

Midnight Suns Tips: Spar With Heroes You Use The Most

Midnight Suns Tips: Spar With Heroes You Use The Most

Daily sparring is an option you can select in the training yard, which lets you train with a hero of your choosing, increasing your friendship with them, improving their stats, and potentially providing them with a buff for the next combat encounter. Each of the game's seven stats relate directly to combat, affecting stuff like the size of AoE abilities or your chance to resist a debuff. By the end of the game, you can massively raise the power of characters by increasing their stats, so it's worth sparring with the characters you take into battle the most. Some stats are also more useful to characters than others, such as the Power stat for Scarlet Switch, as she has lots of AoE cards. Make sure you balance who will benefit the most from a stat increase with which heroes you use the most.

Midnight Suns Tips: Increase Difficulty For More Rewards

Midnight Suns Tips: Increase Difficulty For More Rewards

The amount of resources and XP you gain from missions is based on a few things, but one of the primary features that informs it is difficulty. When you begin the game you can only select easy and normal difficulties, but after playing for a few hours, you'll unlock further options which are marginally harder. You can freely switch difficulty, so if you're having an easy time and want more rewards after missions, try raising the difficulty a level or two.

Midnight Suns Tips: Experiment With Decks

Midnight Suns Tips: Experiment With Decks

Each hero in Midnight Suns can have a deck of eight cards, but they have much more that you can unlock over the course of the game. While most heroes have a fairly set role in team composition, you can slightly alter this with a different deck, potentially finding a new combo of cards that's incredibly powerful. There's no downside to creating new decks, and it just requires you to swap a cards out for different ones. Creating a new deck and testing it out in a general mission or the T.H.R.E.A.T room is a great way to see how well a deck works in practice.

If you want to know what the best decks are for all the game's superheroes, check out the list below:

Midnight Suns Tips: Utilise Your Environment

Midnight Suns Tips: Utilise Your Environment

When you aren't playing attack or heroic cards, one of the best ways to damage enemies or knock them around the arena is using environmental attacks. These attacks cost heroism, but require no card plays, making them a great way to end a turn or just KO some enemies that you don't want to waste a card on. You should be using the environmental objects available to you to make the most of an encounter, and they can often be the missing piece for ending a battle a turn early. It's also worth noting that Spider-Man is well suited to using the environment because of his passive that refunds the heroism cost, and his Opportunist card which lets you use them for free.

Midnight Suns Tips: Mod Your Cards

Midnight Suns Tips: Mod Your Cards

If you level up your forge to level 10, and you've taken Blade into six missions, you can purchase an upgrade for the training yard which lets you mod cards with extra bonuses for a small credit cost, and some of their respective card resource. This is a really useful way to buff cards further after upgrading them, allowing you to reduce heroism costs, add status effects, add redraw effects, and much more. This is especially imperative on higher difficulties, as it will give you the little extra edge you need in encounters by maximising the potential of your cards.

Midnight Suns Tips: Check Arcane Chests Frequently

Midnight Suns Tips: Check Arcane Chests Frequently

Littered around the Abbey grounds, you can Arcane Chests of varying rarity, with rarer ones typically being unlocked after finishing mysteries or finding secrets. These chests will reward you with cosmetics, which is nice, but their real power comes in gifting you combat items and resources like credits. Chests also respawn after sometime, so you can open them multiple times in your playthrough, allowing you to continuously earn more items, and resources for deck building and upgrades.

That's all for our rundown of Midnight Suns tips, and now you know some key mechanics to take advantage of, and how you can make your time playing easier.

Make sure you also take a look at how to solve the Midnight Suns Standing Stones mystery, which is a good way to get three Legendary Arcane Chests.
