If you are starting a new world you might want to take a look at these Minecraft house ideas for a bit of inspiration. Minecraft is one of the most popular world-building games with a wealth of potential, but let's be honest, most of the time we end up building little huts, or our ambition gets the better of us. However, by checking out these Minecraft house idea you may just be able to live out your blocky building dreams. Let's get into the best Minecraft house ideas and designs.

Minecraft House Ideas: Modern

The first Minecraft house style that we have up is the ever-so popular "modern" house style. The modern house style is clean, typically boxy, and for some reason, always seems to be built by a blank white material.

The particular house shown in the image above is a somewhat toned-down version of one of these modern Minecraft houses (yes, a lot of these modern houses get huge). There are many other modern-style houses that are much larger in size, go up to several stories, and get pretty complex with the designs and additions, but for some, less is more.

If you prefer to think that more is more, then, you can certainly go the ambitious route and build your modern Minecraft house on the side of a mountain with six pools, four stories, a massive garden, a golf course, and have it all overlooking the ocean.

However, if "big and bold" isn't quite your speed, then you can easily build a much more quaint version of a modern house, with maybe just a small side garden and a nice pool on the side. Either way, the modern house style in Minecraft is certainly one of the sleekest options waiting to be built.

Minecraft House Ideas: Medieval

Next up, we have the "medieval" Minecraft house style. For fans of Valheim, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, or just general Norse and Viking mythology, you will definitely find this Minecraft house style appealing, especially because there's so much you can do with it!

Almost in complete contrast to the modern house style, the medieval style is very rustic and full of life. Just taking a look at the image above, you can see just how inventive some players can be with this classic medieval Minecraft river house. We can also assume that there is someone (or something) currently in this house, as we see smoke bellowing on the end of the mighty homestead

While this Minecraft house style might not be the flashiest or sleekest, it certainly is the most welcoming, and truly feels cozy and heartwarming. If you like a grand bushy beard and carrying around a massive mug of mead, then the medieval Minecraft house style is definitely the one for you.

All you'd need now is the hammer of Thor, a couple of horses, a massive dining hall, and a couple of monsters to take out, and you're good to go.

Minecraft House Ideas: Japanese

One of my personal favourite Minecraft house styles is the Japanese-style house. While the image above may not be the most impressive Japanese-style Minecraft house of all time, it doesn't change the fact that this is one of the best Minecraft house styles that you can choose to build in the game.

The subtle hint of pink with the cherry blossom tree in the corner really ties the whole thing together as well. If you want to take it a step further and are a fan of anime like Demon Slayer, you could also take it upon yourself to fully recreate the entire Hashira temple within Minecraft. Just saying.

Minecraft House Ideas: Mountain

The last Minecraft house style that we have to talk about today is the "mountain" style house. This style is - quite literally - a house built within a mountain. The biggest advantage to this Minecraft house style is the fact that most of your work is already done for you. Given that you're building it on the inside of a mountain, you don't need to do much of the actual structuring, if any.

If you're a fan of Lord of the Rings, then the mountain house style in Minecraft might be exactly what you've been looking to build. However, while most of the base work might be done for you, it may end up proving to be a bit rough trying to build your way up (or down) to the exact place in the mountain you want to build your house.

As you can see in the image above, there might end up being the issue of travelling to your mountain house, so you might want to start off with figuring out how exactly you're going to get inside your house before you start building it.

So, do you think you can take these Minecraft house ideas and make them a reality? If you want to bask in the glory of your house, why not check out the best Minecraft shaders for 1.18.
