The Warden was added to Minecraft as part of the 1.19 Wild Update, which was released on June 7th, 2022. They were initially announced in 2020 and were set to be part of one of the earlier Caves and Cliffs updates before being pushed back.

What is the Minecraft Warden?

Minecraft Warden towers over a player wielding a bow.

The Warden is one of the newer Minecraft mobs, and is a massive creature that has excellent tracking abilities, setting it apart from the other enemies in the game; they can be found in the Deep Dark biome in caves.

Wardens can sense players by using antennas on their heads, letting them seek out vibrations from movement or breaking blocks. This means if you aren't careful in caves, a Warden can come out to surprise you easily.

They're also extremely powerful and resilient to damage, meaning your best option is to run away until progress far enough into the game to get the best weapons and armour.

That's everything you need to know about the Minecraft Warden, including when it was released and what exactly they are.
