The Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access preload is almost here meaning players can soon take a dive into the brand-new single-player campaign a week before the game's official launch. Modern Warfare 2 is a remake and reimagining of the COD classic from 2009 that comes with a different story and multiplayer that's inspired by the past decade of COD titles. Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Early Access Preload
The Modern Warfare 2 campaign early access preload begins today (October 19) at 6 pm BST (10 am PDT/1 pm EDT/ 12 pm CST). This is a simultaneous worldwide launch, and is the same across all the release platforms, which are the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, via both the Steam and Battle.net storefronts. There's no official confirmation of the preload size yet, but based on the system requirements for the game, it should be roughly 72GB. This is quite a hefty download, so if you want to play for the weekend, it's best to start as soon as possible.
Once you have preloaded the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, you will have to wait until the following day, October 20 to begin playing the early access version. This will begin at 6 pm BST (10 am PDT/1 pm EDT/ 12 pm CST), exactly 24 hours after the preload goes live. The full campaign will be available to play through, and you can even net yourself some campaign rewards, which are bonuses that can be carried over into the multiplayer. The full game will launch on October 28.
