How to get the best weapon in Monster Hunter Rise
If you want to get the best weapon possible in Monster Hunter Rise and become the ultimate monster hunter, here's everything that you will need to do.
One of the most compelling aspects of the series, and Monster Hunter Rise in particular, is improving your weapons and armour throughout the course of the adventure.
Learning how to do this is the key to defeating more powerful opponents, so without further ado, here’s how to get the best weapon in the game.
How do you get the best weapon?
Firstly, you’re going to need to pick the weapon that best suits your playstyle. The first time you load up Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll eventually pick a weapon of your choosing to slay your foes, but it takes quite a bit of experimentation to find the right pick.
You can visit your home and change your weapons at any point, meaning it’s worthwhile checking them all out to see which flows best for you. Once you’ve settled on one or two you can really get behind, your next port of call is to get out there and take down some monsters.
Unlike other RPGs, you won’t exactly find other weapons in the world. In Rise, what you’ll need to do is slowly build up the ones you own by creating variations of them. This is done by collecting monster parts, taking them back to town, and upgrading your gear.
The way the upgrade system works is similar to branching paths, all of which stem from your original weapon. When back in the main hub, visit the smithy, which is located near the quest counter.
Speak with them and choose the weapons option, and at this point, you should be presented with a variety of branches showcasing upgrade paths.
It’s hard to say what exactly the best weapon is in the game, as it all depends on your playstyle, but by following branches and upgrading, you will slowly build up its power. To get the upgrades you desire, you will need the monster parts it's asking for, as well as a chunk of change to perform the upgrade.
As you progress through Monster Hunter Rise, more powerful beasts will come up against you, so be sure to be well-prepared if that’s the case. Constantly checking for new upgrades and working through branches should keep you buffed up considerably as the adventure progresses.
