Want to know how to unlock Havik in Mortal Kombat 1 as a playable character? Mortal Kombat 1 does not have many unlockable characters, but interestingly, one member of the roster is unavailable at the start.

Havik is greyed out on the character select screen at the start of the game, as he must be unlocked by meeting a story progress requirement - so here is how to unlock him in Mortal Kombat 1.

SPOILER WARNING: The following guide contains spoilers for the Mortal Kombat 1 story mode - so proceed at your own caution.

How to unlock Havik in Mortal Kombat 1

Simply put, to unlock Havik in MK1, you must complete the main story. There isn't much more to it, either, as once you finish the final chapter of the game, Havik will be unlocked for use in all modes.

Precisely why unlocking Havik is kept back until you complete the story is not clear, although the reasons may pertain to what comes after.

SPOILER WARNING: Major spoilers below.

After you complete the story and defeat Shang Tsung, Havik will unlock and the credits roll. During the credits, a cutscene plays showing the aftermath of the climactic battle. A Titan version of Havik from another timeline walks down the steps of the pyramid with his entourage, lamenting how quickly the fight ended.

The cutscene ends with Havik heavily implying he will bring about an even greater battle, setting himself up as the potential main villain for the next game.
