The Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test will push the game's online systems ahead of launch, and also give public players a chance to play the game before it comes out. Mortal Kombat 1 is not far away from launching in September, but many fans do not want to wait that long to try it out.

The online stress test is not a typical beta test, as there is a regular beta coming that players can access by pre-ordering the game. As such, you must take a different route to participate in the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test.

How to register for the online stress test

The first step of signing up for the Mortal Kombat 1 test is to sign up for a WB Games account. This is a unifying account used across WB Games, and will be required for signing up for the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test.

You should also link your PlayStation or Xbox account, for whichever platform you wish to play on. This will be required for the stress test.

Once you have created your account, head to the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test site to sign up with your account. You will then be asked to choose between PlayStation and Xbox, which will be simpler to do now that you have linked your accounts.

With all of that done, you will be able to view the online stress test in the Playtest tab of your WB Games account page. Check here for updates, and to find out if you have been selected. If you are selected you should receive an email on Wednesday, June 21, so don't feel like you have to watch this page like a hawk.

The Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test dates will run from Friday, June 23 to Monday, June 26. The test begins at 8 AM PT/ 11 AM ET/ 4 PM BST. Players who gain access to the test will be able to download it ahead of time but only start playing from the equivalent of this time in their local region.

The online stress test will end at the same time on Monday, giving players exactly 72 hours to play as much of the game as they can.

Available platforms

The online stress test will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Although the game is also coming to PC and to the Nintendo Switch, the online stress test will not be available for those platforms.

Fans who do not own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will have to wait until the Mortal Kombat 1 beta later this year in order to play the game early. Further, there will be no crossplay between the consoles during the stress test, which is expected to be a feature of the full game.
