Leaderboards are a staple of the fighting game genre, so MultiVersus just wouldn't feel right without one, and luckily it's there to let people fight for a place at the very top. Here's everything you should know about checking it.
How to check the leaderboard
Checking the MultiVersus leaderboard is as simple as clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner of the main menu screen, and then clicking the 'Leaderboard' button to get it up. There are currently only two leaderboards for the game, a Teams and a 1v1 leaderboard. It shows the 30 best players in your region for these modes, along with your own personal ranking out of everyone else.
The leaderboard displays a few different pieces of information. Apart from obviously showing the name of the player, it tells you their platform and their most played character. It also displays their MMR, which is a numerical representation of their skill as a player, informed by previous matches.
The initial MMR is calculated by measuring a number of placement matches in the different modes, which is then altered after individual matches.
As the game is expanded, there are likely to be more leaderboards, and they may even let you see who the surrounding players on the leaderboard are. The ranked mode will also gain a separate leaderboard, which will likely be informed by player rank and MMR combined.
