One-shot Sniper Rifles have been a staple of Call of Duty since its inception. However, how often and how easily a Sniper Rifle can one-shot kill in Modern Warfare 2 varies and comes down to a variety of factors. With that said, don't risk going into battle without the best one-shot sniper loadout in MW2.

Best one-shot sniper loadout in MW2 Multiplayer: Aggressive and fast-paced

As of Season 3, the SP-X 80 is far and away the best Sniper Rifle in Modern Warfare 2. The SP-X 80 is capable of one-shot kills from up to 44.4 metres out — as long as you hit the head, torso, arms, or hands. Furthermore, the SP-X 80 sports the best Rate of Fire, ADS Speed, Base Move Speed, Sprint Speed, and Reload ADD Time of any weapon in its class.

This one-shot sniper loadout for MW2 Multiplayer is focused on success in traditional six vs. six modes. While this specific loadout doesn't have as much one-shot kill potential at long distances as other builds, it's versatile and excellent at quickscoping.

  • FSS OLE-V Laser
  • VLK 4.0 Optic
  • PVZ-890 TAC Stock
  • FSS ST87 Bolt

  • If you have a passion for quickscoping, consider trying out the best Modern Warfare 2 Quickscope Class.

Best one-shot sniper loadout in MW2 Multiplayer: Slow and methodical

If you're looking for a one-shot sniper loadout with a bit more Range and Bullet Velocity, this particular build is ideal for large-scale modes like Ground War and Invasion. This loadout will feel more sluggish, but it'll improve your chances of hitting shots across the vast landscapes present in MW2's Battle Maps.

  • Schlager PEQ Box IV Laser
  • PVZ-890 TAC Stock
  • Bruen Lynx Grip
  • FSS ST87 Bolt
  • .300 High-Velocity Ammunition

Best one-shot sniper loadout in MW2 Multiplayer: Equipment and perks

  • Secondary — X12
  • Tactical — Stun Grenade
  • Lethal — Throwing Knife
  • Base Perks — Double Time and Bomb Squad
  • Bonus Perk — Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk — Quick Fix
  • Field Upgrade — Dead Silence

While these loadouts are designed to secure one-shot kills at high frequencies, hits to the legs, and select hits at extreme ranges, won't eliminate opponents at full health. With that in mind, the X12 is the perfect tool for cleaning up injured foes.

If you're here, you probably love the feeling of slaying enemies in a single shot. So, what better Lethal to use than the Throwing Knife? Pair the Throwing Knife with a Stun Grenade to leave your opponents dazed, making for easy targets.

As for perks, Double Time and Bomb Squad are great options for Base Perks. Double Time will allow you to traverse the map faster, and Bomb Squad will protect you from annoying explosives. There's an argument for Focus as the Bonus Perk, but Fast Hands is difficult to move away from once you get used to it. Finally, Quick Fix as the Ultimate Perk will allow you to chain kills while maintaining maximum health.

Last but not least, we like to roll with the Dead Silence Field Upgrade for repositioning on the fly without alerting enemies.

Without the ability to kill enemies in one hit, Sniper Rifles are outclassed by other weapon categories like DMRs and Assault Rifles. That's why it's so critical to use the best one-shot sniper loadout in MW2 Multiplayer!

The loadouts listed above are well suited for achieving MW2 longshot kills.
