The SO-14 isn't typically a fan favourite, but the best MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle loadout might change your opinion on this semi-automatic rifle. Modern Warfare 2 features 51 weapons in all, but not many can match the Damage and Fire Rate of the SO-14. The best MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle loadout takes advantage of these heightened attributes to create a Class setup that can eliminate enemies in the blink of an eye.

Best MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle Loadout: Attachments

  • Laser - FSS OLE-V Laser
  • Barrel - 16" Chrome-Lined RFX40
  • Optic - Cronen Mini Pro
  • Stock - SO R55 Adaptor
  • Underbarrel - Schlager Tango

The SO-14 Battle Rifle is interesting because it has the highest Fire Rate of any Battle Rifle in MW2 while retaining enough Damage to eliminate opponents in just two body shots. Unfortunately, the SO-14's impressive Fire Rate and Damage come at the expense of its Recoil Control and Mobility. Without attachments, this Battle Rifle feels sluggish and is difficult to handle.

The attachments featured in our best SO-14 Battle Rifle Loadout are designed to greatly improve the SO-14's Mobility via boosts to Sprint Speed, Aim Walking Speed, Aim Down Sight Speed, and Sprint to Fire Speed. And while these attachments don't particularly emphasise Recoil Control, they do strengthen the SO-14 Battle Rifle's Aiming Stability, Aim Walking Steadiness, and Recoil Steadiness. Combined with the clean view offered by the Cronen Mini Pro, lining up your targets should be an easy task.

When equipping these attachments, you may notice that they do induce minor penalties to Damage and Range, but this is inconsequential because the SO-14 can still kill in two body shots. Altogether, these attachments minimise the MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle's weak points and allow this niche weapon to excel in its area of expertise.

Best MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle Loadout: Perks And Equipment

  • Secondary - X13
  • Tactical - Flash Grenade
  • Lethal - Drill Charge
  • Base Perks - E.O.D. and Battle Hardened
  • Bonus Perk - Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk - Ghost
  • Field Upgrade - Trophy System

Beginning with the Secondary, the X13 is an excellent choice that can save you in a pinch. Instead of reloading, pull out the X13 sidearm to clean up any enemies left standing. Also, the MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle isn't exactly fit for close-range engagements, but the X13 can hold its own in tight corridors.

As for Equipment, we recommend a Flash Grenade and a Drill Charge. Flash Grenades are powerful tools for flushing enemies out of hiding, and the Drill Charge is the perfect counter to campers. With a semi-automatic rifle like the SO-14, Equipment is crucial to gaining an advantage over SMG and AR users. And when you feel like posting up in a defensive position, the Trophy System Field Upgrade will prevent opponents from bombarding you with their own Equipment.

Finally, E.O.D., Battle Hardened, Fast Hands, and Ghost synchronise well with the MW2 SO-14 Battle Rifle. E.O.D. and Battle Hardened will nullify most Tacticals and Lethals. Unless you're using an Extended Magazine attachment, Fast Hands is a necessity on the SO-14 Battle Rifle since it only has 20 bullets in its Magazine. And last but not least, Ghost will allow you to move around the map freely without worrying about UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors.

Where do you think the So-14 Battle Rifle belongs on the MW2 weapon tier list?
