With Season 2 arrived a whole new set of challenges, and one of them is leading players to wonder how to get a Mortar Strike on Ashika Island. While many missions in MW2 DMZ are obtuse, some are just plain difficult - with this one very much falling into the latter's camp.
Thankfully we've got you covered though, so make sure to check out the rest of this guide down below to learn how to complete this challenge.
How do you get a Mortar Strike on Ashika Island?
Mortar Strikes are a key part of the White Lotus tier two faction mission 'Death From Above', which requires you to get eight kills with the Mortar Strike killstreak. While this might not seem too difficult, it can be really challenging due to the strength of AI foes and the unpredictability of the killstreak.
The Mortar Strikes themselves can be purchased from Buy Stations for $12,000 each, and there are usually three in stock for you to pick up. Try and purchase as many as you possibly can though, as sometimes it can be a bit temperamental.
Ashika Island is the best map to pick these up on, as it is by far the easiest way to gain quick cash, and you are bound to be near a Buy Station to sell all of the loot that you have procured.
Easiest way to get Mortar Strike kills
In simple terms, the easiest way to get Mortar Strike killsĀ is to find a group of enemies congregated in small, confined areas. The two most common and reliable spots for this are surrounding SAM Turrets and helicopter reinforcements.
All you need to do then is to whip out your laser pointer and make sure that you're as accurate as possible with your placement, as it is very easy to miss completely and waste a prime opportunity.
You might need to grind away at this bit by bit, but following the advice above should let you complete the mission eventually.
