Playing Call of Duty games on the go is a dream many players dream about, but it only ends up disappointing. But seeing Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard with the goal of not keeping the game exclusive. On the contrary, to make it available on more platforms, players are wondering if Modern Warfare 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch. The latest iteration in the long-running first-person shooter Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 2, is a masterpiece of a title as it delivers a breathtaking campaign, whose Amsterdam level in particular has received global praise for its realism. The multiplayer expands over the original notion while introducing nuances that make the mode feel fresher. Continue reading our guide to learn if Modern Warfare 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch.

Is MW2 Coming To Nintendo Switch?

When writing this article, there is no official confirmation that Modern Warfare 2 will arrive on the Nintendo Switch platform. It is implausible that we will get Modern Warfare 2 on Nintendo Switch, considering the hardware restrictions. One may argue that the cloud version of Modern Warfare 2 can get released on Switch, but after seeing the past releases, it's better if a Call of Duty game gets developed, especially for the Switch.

While Activision does not have much to share when it comes to the arrival of Modern Warfare 2 or future Call of Duty games on the Nintendo Switch platform, we do have an official statement from its future boss, Phil Spencer. During the recent Wall Street Journal Tech Live event, eagerly showed his intent to make Call of Duty games available on handheld platforms like Nintendo Switch.

In an interview during the event, Spencer said, "Call of Duty specifically will be available on PlayStation. I'd love to see it on the Switch, I'd love to see the game playable on many different screens. Our intent is to treat CoD like Minecraft." He continues talking about his ambitions to make games accessible to more players by bringing them to mobile, a highly accessible platform.

He said, "This opportunity is really about mobile for us. When you think about 3 billion people playing video games, there's only about 200 million households on console."

Based on Phil Spencer's statement, when Microsoft acquires Activision, we may see more Call of Duty games appear on platforms like Mobile and finally arrive on Nintendo Switch. But for now, Modern Warfare 2 coming to Nintendo Switch is a long shot.

In any case, we will update this article if there is any official announcement surrounding the arrival of Modern Warfare 2 on Nintendo Switch.
