How to fix the PC crashing issue
There are a few easy ways that you can help to prevent PC crashing in Modern Warfare 2. Firstly, you should check to make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements to run the game. Another cause of crashing could be if you haven't updated your graphics drivers in a while. Be sure to check the website of your graphics card provider and update to the latest driver settings available. This will ensure that Modern Warfare 2 runs as smoothly as possible.
It's also worth ensuring that your game is fully up to date. You can do this in one of two ways - firstly, you can check to see whether there is a new update for the game. Known Issues
At the moment, there is a known PC crashing cause that is creating havoc for plenty of Modern Warfare 2 players. When you try to play MW2 while queued up in a party, the game is prone to crashing. Infinity Ward acknowledged this issue on Twitter, saying that it is investigating the issue.
Of course, having the game crash while in a party isn't much use in a multiplayer game that's best experienced with friends. Sadly, there is currently no fix for this bug at the moment. Infinity Ward will likely fix the issue with a hotfix patch in the coming days after launch.
