MW2 Prisoner Rescue Explained
Prisoner Rescue is a new 6v6 game mode in Modern Warfare 2 that, at its core, gives the feeling of the existing Search and Destroy mode with nuances like hostages, extraction points, and other such things. In Prisoner Rescue, you don't respawn once you get killed by the opposite team. Instead, your teammates can revive you for once, at any point, during the match.
There are two sides in the Prisoner Rescue game mode, the Defending side, whose goal is to defend the Prisoners from being rescued. And the Rescuers' side, whose goal is to save two Prisoners and take them to extraction points. Irrespective of which side you are, killing all six opposing team members will end the round. However, there is a difference in the accumulated points.
Rescuing a Prisoner in Modern Warfare 2's Prisoner Rescue game mode will reward your team with 100 Points. And since there are two Prisoners, you can earn 200 Points in a single round, making you one step closer to winning the match, which you can do by getting 500 Points before the other team.
On the other hand, as a defender, each Prisoner you defend will give you 50 Points. And if you are wondering why there is such disparity in point distribution? It is because when you rescue the Prisoner, the player who grabs the Prisoner can't shoot, and the opposing team is even allowed to reach and camp the extraction location. So, rescuing a Prisoner is daunting without proper communication and assistance from your team. And that is why there's more point allocation than defending the Prisoner.

That aside, you switch sides with each passing round, making the MW2 Prisoner Rescue mode relatively balanced, even though it's a new addition. The funniest part about Prisoner Rescue was when we were trying it out; rather than focusing on the objectives, we were more focused on killing the opponents and stopping them from reviving their teammates.
On the same note, be cautious when you try to revive your teammate in the Prisoner Rescue game mode, as most players tend to camp downed teammates. You can focus on the objectives if you have a team with good communication and understanding. And if that is not the case, your main priority should be eliminating the opposing team members.
