For the most part, the campaign in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is an extremely polished experience. Featuring exhilarating set pieces, and the tight gunplay we’ve come to expect from the series - it’s firing on all cylinders. But when the game stumbles, it becomes a huge glare on an otherwise pristine experience.

As experienced by ourselves and others out there, the mission Violence and Timing has a tendency to glitch quite considerably. While the rest of Modern Warfare 2 seems to be relatively unscathed so far, this can be a huge test of patience that halts the brakes on the game’s momentum. If you’re seeing a mission object telling you to reach the front of the convoy in Violence and Timing with nothing appearing to be happening, don’t worry, you’re not alone, and we have everything you need to know about avoiding this particularly nasty bug.

How To Reach The Front Of The Convoy In MW2

Violence and Timing has you leaping from car to car in this high-octane Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set piece. It’s exhilarating stuff trying to race to the front of the convoy - until you do and nothing happens. It seems to be a fairly common occurrence of players driving ahead with no enemies spawning or the objective updating.

While there’s no definitive reason for this, from multiple play tests, the glitch seems to happen if you drive too far ahead and miss taking out any enemies who may be hanging out on the back of vehicles. Unfortunately, you can’t turn around and check, as driving the opposite way will activate a fail state for the mission. So what can we do?

Firstly, it’s best to simply try and reload the checkpoint. This may put you behind a car with enemies to take out and rectify the issue. From our own experience, this hasn’t been the case. It appears we activated a checkpoint after missing the enemies, rendering us unable to take them out. It may even be possible to see them driving toward you from afar, but they’ll never catch up.

The only solution left is to completely restart the mission, which you can do from the pause menu. It’s a hassle and may put you back 15 to 20 minutes, but until a patch has been deployed, this is the only way to fix this issue. We recommend taking this particular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 mission slowly and carefully ensuring you’ve taken out all enemies before driving ahead.
