MW2 Gold Camo: How To Unlock
To unlock a Gold Camo in MW2, you must first complete a set of Base Camo challenges. While there used to be a huge set of Base Camos to unlock for each weapon, this list has been narrowed down significantly in the new title. Now, there are only four weapon-specific camos that you need to unlock before gaining access to the Gold Camo. All other Camo challenges are universal, meaning you unlock the Camo for every weapon on the roster.
For example, to unlock the Gold Camo for the M4 Assault Rifle, you'll need to complete the four M4 Camo challenges. These involve using the weapon in a basic capacity, like getting kills while using ADS or while hip-firing. Once those four Camos are unlocked, you'll be able to equip the Gold Camo from the Weapon Mastery tab.
It's worth noting that some Camo challenges are locked behind a weapon level. That means if you want to start unlocking Camos for a particular weapon, you're going to need to start using it a lot. Still, this new system seems to massively reduce the grind that was present in previous Call of Duty titles. It seems like we'll be seeing many more golden weapons around the battlefields of Modern Warfare 2.
