Here's how you can unlock the Crossbow in MW2 & Warzone 2

A fan-favorite Call of Duty weapon, the Crossbow is back in Season 02. Stick around to find out what you have to do to get the Crossbow in both MW2 and Warzone 2.
Path of the Ronin event challenges
The Season 02 Battle Pass features brand-new weapons like the ISO Hemlock Assault Rifle and Dual Kodachis, but not the Crossbow. Instead, the Crossbow is unlocked by completing all the MW2 Path of the Ronin Event challenges.
There exists seven Path of the Ronin Event challenges in total, based upon the Seven Virtues of Bushido:
Integrity (Gi)
- MW2: Win 15 matches in any Multiplayer game mode.
- Warzone 2: Get five Top 10 finishes.
Honour (Meiyo)
- MW2: Get 100 objective defence kills.
- Warzone 2: Restore Honor five times.
Sincerity (Makoto)
- MW2: Get 50 kills using Battle Rage.
- Warzone 2: Complete five Assassination Contracts.
Compassion (Jin)
- MW2: TBD
- Warzone 2: TBD
Courage (Yu)
- MW2: TBD
- Warzone 2: TBD
Loyalty (Chu Gi)
- MW2: TBD
- Warzone 2: TBD
Respect (Rei)
- MW2: TBD
- Warzone 2: TBD
While the Crossbow is the ultimate reward for completing all the Path of the Ronin Event challenges, each individual challenge has its own reward. As you progress through the seven challenges, you will unlock Skins, Blueprints, and more!
As you can see, not all of the Path of the Ronin Event challenges are available. MW2 and Warzone 2 players must wait until February 28, 2023, for all seven challenges to be revealed. In turn, this means that the Crossbow will not be usable in Multiplayer and Warzone 2 until February 28, 2023, at the earliest.
Alternative methods of unlocking the Crossbow
If the Path of the Ronin Event challenges sounds like too much work to you, and you just want to fast-forward to sniping enemies with the Crossbow, there are a couple of other ways to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind weapon.
If you have spare COD Points, you can purchase a Store Bundle containing a Crossbow Blueprint to unlock the Crossbow instantly.
Lastly, remember that extracting weapons in MW2 DMZ will permanently unlock them in MW2 and Warzone 2. So, if you find a Crossbow in the Exclusion Zone and escape with it, it'll be yours to keep!
There are a few strategies to unlock the Crossbow in MW2 and Warzone 2. Whatever path you choose, know that it'll be all worth it when you finally get the chance to wield the silent and high-powered Crossbow.
How does the Crossbow work?
Classified as a Marksman Rifle, the Crossbow functions unlike any other weapon in MW2 and Warzone 2 and features exclusive customization. Also, the Crossbow can be equipped with unique ammunition types.
A single well-placed bolt from the Crossbow can eliminate a foe before they know what hit them. Their teammates won't know what to do but run and hide because firing this high-performance crossbow makes barely any noise, and its bolts are undetected by Trophy Systems.
The Crossbow takes exceptional skill to use, but Operators who master it are a force to be reckoned with.
