With Warzone in its final days, are you wondering if COD Points and cosmetics transfer to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2? By now, many dedicated Warzone players have stocked up Operators, Skins, Blueprints, and other cosmetics with their COD Points, but will any of this stuff be usable in Warzone 2? If you're looking for answers, below you'll find everything we know about whether or not COD Points and cosmetics will transfer to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Will COD Points Transfer To Modern Warfare 2 And Warzone 2?

Until we hear otherwise, yes, COD Points will transfer to Warzone 2. COD Points are tied to your Activision account, and historically they transfer over between new Call of Duty titles. So, if you have a bunch of COD Points saved up, they should be ready for you when you first log in to Warzone 2.

The only question is if the status of your COD Points depends on the platform you opt to use. Apparently, Activision Support Agents have informed inquiring customers that COD Points are locked to the specific platform and Platform Store where they were first purchased.

For example, if you play Warzone on Xbox but switch to PlayStation for Warzone 2, there's a chance you'll lose your COD Points in the exchange. Likewise, if you play on a PC, you have the option to play Warzone 2 on Battle.net or Steam. So, if you plan to swap platforms heading into Warzone 2, you may want to reconsider until we get confirmation on what's going to happen to your COD Points.

Will Cosmetics Transfer To Modern Warfare 2 And Warzone 2?

What we do have confirmation of is that, unfortunately, your Warzone inventory will not transfer to Warzone 2. Operators, Skins, and any and all cosmetics, along with stats and progression, will not carry over to Warzone 2. In an official blog post discussing the upcoming Warzone 2, Activision states:

'Warzone 2.0 will feature new Modern Warfare 2 content and systems with brand-new progression and inventories. Today’s Warzone will continue as a separate experience that will include a continuation of player progression and inventories within that Warzone experience.'

This news is a bummer, especially considering that many players have invested heavily in building their Warzone inventories. Alas, Warzone 2 is a clean slate, and at least we got word early so that we can save our COD Points in advance of Warzone 2. And if you ever have an itch for nostalgia, it's nice to know that you can always go back to the original Warzone and admire your collection of cosmetics.

As we approach the Warzone 2 release date, you now know where things stand when it comes to if your COD Points and cosmetics will transfer to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

If our inventories aren't transferring over, will Call of Duty Warzone 2 be free at least?
