Show your football skills in the Warzone Cup in MW2
Find out how to play the Rocket League-inspired Warzone Cup in MW2.
Limited-time modes (LTMs) are an integral part of Call of Duty, so it's only right that a Football-themed LTM is introduced to commemorate the 2022 World Cup. Without further ado, let's go over how to get out on the pitch and play in the Warzone Cup in MW2.
How to play Warzone Cup
As we mentioned, Warzone Cup is a limited-time mode like we've never seen before in Call of Duty. Holster your weapons and prepare for some Football!
Our first taste of Call of Duty x World Cup action came courtesy of the MW2 FC Event. The Support-a-Team Feature rewarded players for correctly predicting the result of World Cup Group Stage matches. Additionally, players can roam the pitch as Neymar Jr, Paul Pogba, or Leo Messi via the limited-time Operator Bundles in the Store.
Now, Warzone Cup straps two teams of three Operators each onto the back of tricked-out ATVs with a pulse ability. The objective is to push a giant football into the opposition's goal.
To assist in your efforts, players can collect and toss Shock Sticks to disrupt the enemy team or ram them with your ATV and send them flying to no man's land!
The first team to achieve five goals or the team with the most goals at the end of the five-minute time limit wins.
Warzone Cup takes place at Al Easima Field. Al Easima Field is home to one of Al Mazrah’s football club's rivals.
Combine your love of Football and Call of Duty in the Warzone Cup, arriving December 14, 2022, at 6pm GMT with the Season 01 Reloaded Midseason Update.
Warzone Cup dates and times
Warzone Cup is set to arrive with the Season 01 Reloaded Midseason Update on December 14, 2022, at 6pm GMT.
Activision has yet to detail exactly when Warzone Cup will kick off and how long this LTM will be available, but with the World Cup Final rapidly approaching, it would only make sense for Warzone Cup to release in unison with the Season 01 Reloaded Midseason Update.
There's no denying that Warzone Cup appears to be heavily inspired by Rocket League.
