The Faction Showdown is a brand-new limited-time event in MW2 and Warzone with lots to offer, and we've got everything you'll need to know about the dates, rewards, and how to play it below.

Players must choose a side to represent and then complete challenges in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone to prove their loyalty. With exciting rewards on offer, you certainly won't want to miss out on finishing everything that is presented.

When does the MW2 & Warzone Faction Showdown Event start and end?

The Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event runs for two weeks,

The Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event kicks off on August 4, 2023, just a couple of days after the release of Season 05. This event will remain playable up until a cease-fire is declared on August 16, 2023.

How to play the MW2 & Warzone Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event

Pick a faction and start completing challenges in the Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event!

To participate in the Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event, you must first join a faction. To do this, navigate to the Events tab of the in-game menu and select the faction you're willing to fight for. If you're feeling traitorous, you can swap sides mid-event!

Once you've sided with a faction, your primary objective is to earn 50 Operator kills while a member of that faction. However, each faction offers additional faction-specific challenges with their own payments, so you'll need to provide your services to both of the game's factions if you want to collect all the rewards!

All challenges & rewards in the MW2 Faction Showdown event

You can earn a bunch of exclusive rewards by completing challenges in the Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event.

Completing the main challenge to earn 50 Operator kills as a member of either faction will net you a Calling Card and Emblem. However, there are plenty of other rewards available for completing the various faction-specific challenges.

If you side with Task Force 141, you will be handed challenges related to landing Finishing Moves, eliminating foes with melee weapons, and getting longshot kills with Battle Rifles.

Shadow Company, on the other hand, wants its members to secure SMG kills from behind and get eliminations with utility items like Launchers and Lethal Equipment.

As for the rewards, the faction-specific challenges divvy out goodies like Tier Skips, Vehicle Skins, and Weapon Blueprints.

If you complete all five of a faction's challenges, you will officially earn your spot in that faction and be eligible for bonus rewards, including a free Operator Skin!

The faction that wins the Faction Showdown Limited-Time Event by securing the highest number of community Operator eliminations will get an Operator Skin for either Soap or Horangi, plus a universal weapon camouflage and a one-hour Double Battle Pass XP Token.

You have two weeks to prove your worth to Task Force 141 and Shadow Company. Pick the faction your beliefs align with and complete challenges to earn exclusive rewards in MW2 and Warzone 2.
