Even after the introduction of Gunsmith 2.0 with Modern Warfare 2, the game is pretty stingy regarding XP distribution and leveling up weapons to unlock attachments, Camos, new weapons, and other similar things. How To Use MW2 XP Glitch
To use the Modern Warfare 2 XP glitch, you must play Ground War game mode and use the APC or Light Tank to get as many kills while completing objectives to help your side towards winning. When you are in the APC, the kills you get and objectives you complete using the vehicle earn you XP for the weapon you had equipped while entering the vehicle.
To begin with, first go to the Weapon's menu, Multiplayer Loadouts, and make a Custom Loadout with Primary and Secondary weapons that you want to level up quickly using the Modern Warfare 2 XP glitch. After that, hop into a Ground War match and select the created Custom Loadout.
Once the game starts, make your way toward an APC location. When you manage to find the tank, equip the weapon that you want to level up and interact with the tank. Now, go around the battlefield, get some kills, and complete some objectives. All XP you earn will add towards levelling up the selected weapon.

Alternatively, you can equip the Suppression Mine Field Upgrade and play through the round in a Ground War match until you have your Field Upgrade ready to use. Once that happens, find and climb up an enemy IAV Light Tank and throw the Suppression Mine in the open hatch. Doing so will glitch the game, and you will repeatedly get an Enemy Suppressed message and a ton of EXP points that will level up your current equipped weapon to max level.
