Custom games in MW3 allow you to practice on each map of the game. To help your process in getting better, you can add bots into the game. You can even mix their difficulties to make the match realistic.

How to add bots in MW3 in a private lobby

To start a custom game, head over to the MW3 screen. Then, head to the right-most option in the menu. It's called "Private Match" and is hidden to the right of the "Campaign" tab. Select "Create Private Match."

Now, join the game. Your user will be under "Team 1", so select the + tab under the name. You can either invite your friends (through crossplay or regularly) or add bots. You can choose the amount of bots you want in the game and their difficulty. It goes from Recruit to Veteran. You can also choose a mixed option, which includes bots of all difficulties. It's like jumping into a random game online, but you can select up to 15 bots per team.

Once you've selected your favoured bot options, "Confirm" your choices. The bots will then spawn on the screen next to your soldier.

Once Team 1 is filled, head down to Team 2 and repeat this process. You can also add a spectator and even a Codcaster.

How to remove bots in MW3

If you've added too many bots in MW3, you can thankfully remove them. Go to the "Lobby Members" tab and select it. Hover over the players in the Lobby Members screen and then press the cross button (or A on Xbox).

Additionally, you can remove the bots from the lobby screen. Go to each team member and select it. Then "Remove Bot" to get rid of it. The first option is faster, however.
