Don't miss this guide for everything we currently know about how to get the Neon White secret good ending, letting you know what the ending is alongside how to get it if you've already completed the game.
If you’ve reached the end of the game, you might be wondering how to get the Neon White secret good ending that was likely blocked off for you as a choice. Although the aim in Neon White is often to get through each level as fast as possible no matter what, there is quite a lot of side content which you can explore if you take a moment to pause. So, if you’re wanting to find out all about how to unlock the Neon White secret good ending, then make sure to keep on reading.
What Is The Neon White Secret Good Ending
After you’ve completed the final two missions in mission twelve, and defeated Neon Green at the hand of God, you will be presented with a choice to write Green into either the Book of Life or the Book of Death.
Unless you have been very thorough in your engagement with the side content, you will likely only have the Book of Death option here, with the Book of Life choice greyed out. Doing this is in a sense considered the 'bad' ending, as it condemns Green to Hell, and refuses him your forgiveness and absolution.
Inscribing Neon Green’s name into the Book of Life however grants him redemption, and clears the hatred you possess for him and everyone else. This is the 'good' ending out of the two - no matter how good it feels to condemn our nemesis to an eternity in the Underworld.
How To Get The Neon White Secret Good Ending
The key to unlocking the secret ending is to acquire enough memories throughout the course of the game. The memories themselves are unlocked through giving Neon White gifts to each of the interactive characters in the game, with two memories unlockable per character.
You will have to build up enough gifts to get through the preceding insight ranks for each character though, with 10 gifts needed to reach the first memory for example.
It is likely that you will need to procure all ten of White's memories in order to unlock the Book of Life choice, as each memory will be a key to remembering your past life when White was alive.
If you have already completed the game and chosen the Book of Death ending before capturing all of the memories, you can still get the secret good ending. All you need to do is head to Heaven’s Gate and select the 'continue game' option. You will need to complete both levels in chapter twelve to get this option, but it is worth it to get the ending. You cannot just select the final mission from the mission select tool either, as that will not have the cutscene that follows in order to complete the game again.
So, that wraps up everything we know about how to get the Neon White secret good ending. If you’re a bit stuck on picking up all of the gifts required, why not check out our Neon White gift guide for mission three to get you caught up.
