Octopath Traveler 2 on Game Pass would make complete sense. The first entry in the series is on the service already, and the publisher Square Enix has supported Game Pass in the past with the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy franchises. However, is Octopath Traveler 2 on Game Pass day one?

Octopath Traveler 2 on Game Pass

At the time of writing, there is no date for Octopath Traveler 2 on Game Pass. There has been no official word from Square Enix on whether or not the JRPG will be heading to the popular service or not. It is true that Square Enix released a game on Game Pass the same day it launched like Outridersbut Octopath Traveler 2 will be following a different schedule to the third-person shooter.

However, there is a possibility of the game joining Xbox Game Pass in the future. As previously mentioned, you can play the original game on the service. You can also check out Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns and Dragon Quest Builders 2 through Microsoft's premiere subscription service. There's a chance Octopath Traveler 2 can appear on Game Pass at some point, due to Xbox and Square Enix's tight relationship regarding the service.

While you wait, there is indeed an Octopath Traveler 2 demo you can play on Steam, PlayStation systems, and the Nintendo Switch. A neat fact is that you can actually transfer the progress of the demo to the full release once you're able to buy it.

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising Game Pass

Since the release of Octopath Traveler, some have tried to utilize the same sprite-like models in front of a 3D background. One such example is Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. It has an entertaining game loop of going through 2D levels and picking up loot after defeating enemies and scrounging the environment. The story is also not that bad, and the game only lasts around 15 hours.

If you're looking for a cute JRPG to play, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is something you should try as well. It has a stunning Studio Ghibli-created world and you're collecting familiars (adorable creatures like Pokemon) as you proceed through a dramatic, yet joyful storyline.
