How to complete The Soused Nobleman in Octopath Traveler 2
The Soused Nobleman is one of the trickier quests to complete in Octopath Traveler 2, but the reward here is definitely more than worth the effort put in.
Quests in Octopath Traveler 2 tend to be a bit obtuse, leaving you to figure them out yourself through path actions, speaking to other townspeople, or clever deduction - and 'The Soused Nobleman' is no different.
While this quest is not the most complicated by any means, it still can be confusing to figure out exactly what you need to do.
How do you complete The Soused Nobleman?
The Soused Nobleman Side Story is both started and completed in the Cropdale Tavern, and involves dealing with a rather aggressive patron of the bar.
You will inevitably notice the shouty fellow if you step inside the Tavern at night, so make sure to speak to the Tavern Assistant in order to complete the quest. The crux of what you'll need to do is to make him shut up, but he isn't exactly the most receptive to requests from other people.
The key to completing this quest is to use the various Path Actions at your disposal. In my particular instance, I used Castti's 'Soothe' Path Action which sends the receiving character to sleep, but you could potentially also use the other knockout Path Actions like Hikari's 'Challenge' or Throné's 'Ambush'.
After using the Path Action, make sure to change the time of day twice so that it returns to the next night and the Drunk Aristocat should be awake once more, and a little bit less drunk this time.
He will repent for his actions, claiming the pressure of his own life and marriage situation has driven him to the drink. Thankfully, the Tavern still welcomes him, but he'll be stuck on the Peach Juice from now on.
Rewards
As a reward for completing The Soused Nobleman Side Story, you will be given the following items:
- 4,000 Silver Leaves
- Prosperity Charm
So ends the tale of The Soused Nobleman and this guide, letting you know exactly what you need to do in order to complete the quest.
