How to get Okidogi in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Okidogi is one of the new Legendary Pokemon arriving in the Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, so here's how to encounter and catch it.
After months of anticipation, the first part of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, has arrived. The Scarlet and Violet expansion introduces a new range of Legendary Pokemon to the game, including the dog-like Okidogi.
Okidogi is one of the Loyal Three, a group of legendary Pokemon that can be encountered in Kitakami during the Part 1: Teal Mask DLC. Here's everything you need to know to find and catch Okidogi in the game.
How can you get Okidogi?
You'll encounter Okidogi during Part 1 of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, The Teal Mask. Along with the monkey-like Munkidori and pheasant-like Fezandipiti, Okidogi is regarded as one of the beloved heroes of Kitakami - the land you'll visit in the DLC as part of a school trip.
In order to catch Okidogi, you will first need to complete the main story of the Teal Mask. Once this is done, Okidogi can be found in the very northwest corner of Kitakami, in the region called Paradise Barrens. You will have already encountered Okidogi here during the story, so you simply need to return to the same location.
Once there, approach the Pokemon and engage it in a battle. We recommend saving your game first, to make sure you can try again if you accidentally knock Okidogi out. The Pokemon is a Poison/Fighting type, making it especially weak to Psychic-type moves, so focus on those if you can.
As it is a Legendary Pokemon, it has the typical Legendary catch rate of 3, meaning about a 1-2% chance of catching it. Unless you want to use a Master Ball, you can maximize your chances by using a Quick Ball on the first turn, then Dusk Balls if it is nighttime. Remember that putting Okidogi to sleep or paralysing it will also make it easier to catch.
