The world of One Piece has a heavy emphasis on characters carrying ridiculous bounties on their heads, including our protagonists, the Straw Hat Pirates. However, the tables have somewhat been turned in One Piece Odyssey, as instead of evading bounty hunters, you're actively participating in the hunts to net some extra cash.

Bounty hunts are not available straight away and require a little bit of progression before you're able to engage with them. Here is everything you need to know about unlocking bounty hunts in One Piece Odyssey.

How to unlock Bounty Hunts

As is the norm with JRPGs, you will need to sit through quite a lengthy prologue and the game’s first chapter. This should take you anywhere between 3-5 hours as you’re required to defeat a few bosses and get a proper understanding of One Piece Odyssey’s original story.

However, once you speak with Lim at the end of Chapter 1, you will find yourself in a familiar One Piece location – Alabasta, the Desert Kingdom featured in the earlier chapters of the source material. Fans of One Piece will be more than familiar with this location, as it’s one of the lengthiest arcs in the entire series.

This will then initiate Chapter 2: Memories of the Desert Kingdom, Alabasta, meaning you’re closer to unlocking bounty hunts in One Piece Odyssey. After a series of events, you will find yourself in a small town – this is the location where we unlock bounty hunts.

Look for an NPC called Mediator Marzin – he can be spotted on the map with a blue exclamation point – and talk to him. Marzin will then explain the process of bounty hunting to you, which in this case, can be activated by interacting with the bulletin board in the local tavern.

How to complete the first bounty

Your first bounty hunt will be associated with a quest assigned by Marzin, which sees you duking it out with Evil Bulbro, who isn’t that far from the tavern. After kicking some butt, Marzin will congratulate you and offer some money as a reward, though Nami wishes for more.

Congratulations, bounty hunts can now be accepted from any bulletin board! More can be tackled immediately after completing the Evil Bulbro bounty, so get hunting.
