Overwatch 2 isn’t exactly the hardest of online games. If you know your way around a few characters and are backed by some solid teammates, you will often find that most matches end fairly quickly with a victory. Compared to other multiplayer games, such as Fortnite and Call of Duty, there are enough options here for most players to enjoy it.

However, that’s not to say the game is without challenge, and sometimes those issues can arise from the game itself, not players. One of the biggest issues many face is known as aim smoothing, which is affecting many users’ shots in-game. If you’re curious to know what Aim Smoothing is, and of course, how to fix it in Overwatch 2, we have you covered with everything you need to know.

What is Aim Smoothing and how to fix it in Overwatch 2

If you've been playing Overwatch 2 and felt your aim feels a bit floaty or off - especially on PC - you’re most likely a victim of Aim Smoothing. This feature is designed to ease new players in by soothing the movement features when aiming down your sights, but for long-time players, it can be a huge burden.

Thankfully, this is something you can turn off and only takes a few short steps. If you want to turn off Aim Smoothing in Overwatch 2, here’s what you need to do:

  • Go to the game’s options menu.
  • Click Controls.
  • Click General.
  • Click Controller.
  • Click Advanced.
  • Go to Aim Smoothing and set the value to 0%.

If you still find your aim is slightly off, you can enable High Precision Mouse Input by doing the following:

  • Go to the game’s options menu.
  • Click Gameplay.
  • Click General.
  • Click Miscellaneous.
  • Ensure you enable High Precision Mouse Input in this menu.

With both of these, you should spot a notable difference in your Overwatch 2 gameplay without Aim Smoothing. It’s a small fix but should make the world of difference the next time you jump into a match.
