Overwatch 2 Endorsements Explained
Essentially, the Overwatch 2 endorsement system is a means for players to commend their teammates at the end of a match, signalling that they performed well or have good behaviour. The option appears during the match-end screen, and you can endorse up to two players on your team after each match. While in the first game it was just a simple way of commending someone, this time it's more of a reward and has some substantial benefits.
Endorsing a player in Overwatch 2 will contribute to their overall endorsement level, which is the number that can be seen next to their profile in the post-match screen. The levels go from Rank 1 to Rank 5, with one being the default level, and five being the current maximum. Getting more endorsements will gradually increase your endorsement level, but it can also go down if you are reported by other players, leave matches too early, or stop receiving endorsements for a period of time.
Here is where the biggest change comes to the endorsement system, as your endorsement level will sometimes reward you with bonus XP toward the battle pass. It's not clear how much extra XP you receive per level, and how frequently the bonus occurs, but as long as you keep a high endorsement level, you are guaranteed to receive the bonus. The XP bonus is also substantial enough to make a difference to your levelling, so it's worth being on your best behaviour if you want to reach the max Overwatch 2 battle pass level quickly.
That's all for our breakdown of the Overwatch 2 endorsements system, and now you know how the system differs from the first game, and what rewards players can earn for having a high endorsement level.
