Juno is the 11th Support hero to be added to the Overwatch 2 roster, and she brings with her some fantastic manoeuvrability skills.

Previously named ‘Space Ranger’, Juno brings along some rapid-fire weapons that can both heal teammates and damage enemies. Combine that with her speed-buffing abilities and exceptional movement, she’s already a force to be reckoned with.

After spending a couple of matches with Juno in July’s early access period, here’s how to get the most out of this latest Overwatch 2 hero.

Weapon

The Mediblaster is Juno’s main weapon, which takes the form of a one-handed SMG-type weapon. It’s burst fire and has bullets that heal teammates and deal damage to enemies, a little like Ana’s main sniper weapon.

While Juno is certainly capable of dealing damage up close, she’s nowhere close to being able to 1v1 enemies. This makes sense as a Support character, but she can hold her own when dealing small amounts of damage to finish off enemies.

I’ve also found that the Mediblaster is great if your aim isn’t the best as if you fire into a general crowd, you’re likely to hit either a friend or foe - and hitting either is beneficial thanks to the healing and damage properties of the bullets.

Abilities

Juno Overwatch 2 Abilities
  • Pulsar Torpedoes
    • Lock on and fire homing projectiles. Heals allies over time and damages enemies.
  • Glide Boost
    • Glide horizontally with increased movement speed
  • Hyper Ring
    • Deploy a ring that increases the movement speed of allies that pass through it

Two of Juno’s three abilities are movement-based, which makes her incredibly nippy and hard to hit in combat - when used right, that is.

Using Glide Boost enables you to move much faster in any direction, locking onto a vertical plane. By jumping or crouching, you can move up and down, too. It’s essentially like having a jetpack for a small amount of time.

Both your and your team’s speed can be bolstered by the Hyper Ring, which can be placed on the ground for teammates to walk through. When players do, they’ll be granted a speed boost for a short time, similar to what Lucio can provide. This is best used when entering team fights or going in for a big push.

Lastly, Juno’s Pulsar Torpedoes are exceptionally useful when both friendly and enemy players are all grouped up in a team fight. They take a while to lock on, but once charged Juno fires healing and damage orbs in the direction of players. If you can pull off this ability undetected in massive team fights, it can change the tide of battle in a big way.

Passives

  • Martian Overboots
    • While airborne, double jump or hold jump to hover
  • Role: Support
    • Begin regenerating health more quickly

Juno’s passives are fairly straightforward, again focusing on buttressing her manoeuvrability. Martian Boots is best deployed when using the Glide Boost ability, which essentially lets you fly for a short period of time.

With a relatively small character model and a fast movement speed, Juno can be particularly tricky to hit, and subsequently take down.

Ultimate

Juno ultimate in Overwatch 2

Orbital Ray is Juno’s Ultimate ability, and it’s an absolute must-have if you’re looking to go in for a big team fight.

When called in, it places a massive ray of light beaming in from the sky which heals enemies and increases their damage output.

The best part is that it slowly creeps forward, encouraging your teammates to follow it in to retain its benefits. In the few matches that I played as Juno, this ability won us back the objective every time I used it, so it’s already proving to be an incredible asset if your team is on the backfoot.

I found that it’s a little less useful if you’re defending an objective point, as there’s less need to advance your position. However, it’s still a remarkably powerful ability in the right hands.

How to unlock Juno in Overwatch 2

Juno was previously available to play for a short while between July 19 and 22, 2024.

However, she’s coming to the game properly in Season 12, which lands on August 20, 2024. The last hero to arrive in the game, Venture, was free to play when she arrived. We expect the same to be true of Juno, but will update this when we know for sure.

We’ll update this article when we learn more about Juno in Overwatch 2.
