if you're unsure as to when Season 5 of Overwatch 2 is set to start, we've got the lowdown on its release time, alongside its roadmap and Battle Pass details.

With Blizzard Entertainment likely looking to pull out all of the stops to mask Overwatch 2's PvE cancellation backlash, Season 5 promises to rebalance the game and hopefully win back the faith of the fans that were left bitterly disappointed.

So far, Season 4 has been dubbed as the worst meta for its heroes yet. Thankfully, it's coming to a conclusion soon. With that, here's all you need to know about the highly anticipated Overwatch 2 Season 5 start time, as well as what we know about upcoming features like a new map, fresh Limited-Time Events, and a fantasy-themed Battle Pass.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 release date & start time

Overwatch 2 Season 5 will kick off on June 13, 2023, at 1 AM ET / 2 PM ET / 7 PM BST, which follows the theme of Overwatch 2's seasons are lasting nine weeks.

With Season 4 coming to a welcomed finish, amid adjustments to life with Lifeweaver and a couple of controversial buffs and nerfs, players will have until June 13 to get their final Battle Pass tiers secured and end the competitive split in their desired rank.

Season 5 also marks the start of the game's revised roadmap after Blizzard drastically altered its PvE plans for the game.

What's in the Overwatch 2 Season 5 roadmap?

Having been quick to squash the news that PvE has been stifled, Blizzard released the Overwatch 2 Season 5 roadmap, which has revealed that there will be a new mode called Winston's Beach Volleyball, alongside the return of Lucio Ball and On Fire.

That's not all, though, as there's also set to be a 5v5 mini comp season and the Summer Games.

Will Overwatch 2 Season 5 have a new hero?

Given that Lifeweaver was added in Season 4, Overwatch 2 Season 5 will not have a new hero.

Blizzard has continuously outlined that heroes will be added to Overwatch 2 on a bi-seasonal basis, meaning that the next time we will see a hero will be in Season 6, with Blizzard confirming that it will be a Support character.

The roadmap did indicate, however, that a new Tank is in the works - but following this format, they will likely not arrive until Season 8 at least.

Is there a new map for Overwatch 2 Season 5?

With Overwatch 2 Season 5 ruling out a hero, we were expecting a fresh map - but we didn't get one for this season.

Update: November 2, 2023

Instead, Blizzard added a new mode and maps in Season 6 alongside Illari.

Overwatch 2 Season 5 LTMs and Battle Pass

Through the Overwatch 2 Season 5 roadmap, Blizzard has revealed that there will be a number of themes and events deployed to spruce life up.

Questwatch will arrive as a Limited-Time Event that is set to allow players to "journey through a Battle Pass story" alongside a Prop Hunt mode called Mischief & Magic.

Additionally, Season 5's Mythic skin is called 'Mythic Adventurer Tracer', with different variants unlocking at Tiers 45, 65, and 80. These are referred to as 'Base', 'Intermediate', and 'Complete' - each with a slightly different style and colour palette.
