Best places to farm Clay in Palia
Clay can be found on the riverbanks of coastal areas like Fisherman's Lagoon, Remembrance Beach and Gillyfin Cove.
Clay can sometimes be difficult to distinguish, especially during the evening. Look out for brown lumps jutting from the earth close to the shoreline.
A great route to take is to start in Fisherman's Lagoon and follow the coastal route west until you hit the ruins near Leafhopper Hills (indicated in the image above)
By the time you complete a circuit, you can repeat the route and some Clay will already respawn. It's also a great area to fish and forage whilst you wait for the respawn.
If another player mines Clay nearby, you can also help them and you'll both yield the reward!

How to make Ceramic in Palia
The main use of Clay in Palia is to make Ceramic. To do so, you must simply place two pieces of Clay into a Smelter, which will then make a Ceramic bar after four minutes has elapsed.
The recipe for Ceramic can be purchased from Hodari, along with the recipe for a Smelter once you reach mining level two.
Ceramic is used in a multitude of building recipes to make furniture, crafters and more. If you find yourself running out of space for crafters, you'll need to upgrade your space by getting a Crafting License.
