Are there Shinies in Palworld? Lucky Pals explained & how to catch
In this guide, we share tips on where you can find Shiny Pals while explaining how you can capture them to expand your Pals collection in Palworld.
Shiny Pals, which Palworld calls Lucky Pals, are unique variants of regular Pals with extra passive and active skills and a bigger size that players can catch to increase their firepower and access new abilities.
These are some of the most desirable creatures in the game, but you could explore the entire world and never find one! Palworld doesn't provide information on where to find resources, let alone how to get a Shiny Pal, so we'll explain how to find Lucky Pals and catch them right here.
Where to find Shiny Pals in Palworld
You can find Shiny Pals all around the game's Palpagos Islands, as there is no definite location for finding one. They emit a golden sparkle around them with a glittering sound that you can use to locate them, so make sure you have your eyes and ears open.
One thing we have noticed during our playthrough is that a Shiny or Lucky Pal - whatever you prefer to call them - will always appear in their most common spawn zones, which the game calls Habitats.
So, let's say you want to find a Shiny Foxparks. You must keep exploring the Foxparks-rich regions at the right time, and you will eventually come across its Shiny or Lucky variant.
How to find spawn regions of Pals to farm Shiny Pals
Checking the spawn region of Pals is relatively easy once you have their entry unlocked in the Paldeck menu. To unlock an entry, you must explore the world and come across the respective Pal at least once. Once that is done, open the pause menu and select the 'Paldeck' tab.
Now, scroll down until you find the Pal whose spawn region-related details you want to learn and click on the entry. Select the 'Habitat' tab and adjust the day and night options, and you will see the regions where the selected Pal spawns at day and night.
How to catch Shiny Pals
The process of catching Shiny Pals is similar to regular Pals, except for the fact that they deal more damage and you need more Catching Power to catch them successfully.
Because of this, I would recommend having a Mega Sphere or Giga Sphere to ensure you don't mess up the rare chance of catching a Shiny Pal. Assuming you have one of those and have come across a Shiny, the next thing to do is to reduce their HP so you have a higher chance of catching them.
You can aim the Pal Sphere at the Shiny Pal to check the Capture Rate. Once it's at least above 50%, throw it on the Pal to try and capture it. Throwing the Pal Sphere from behind a Pal also gives you a Back Bonus that increases the capture chance.
Having said that, I've captured many Pals with less than 10% Capture Rate, so it's possible to catch one even when the chances seem low. The main thing is to make sure you have enough Pal Spheres to keep trying.
That concludes our guide on where to find Shiny Pals and how to catch them in Palworld. While you're here, check out how to fast travel, how to change difficulty settings, and the best starter Pals to catch in the early game.
