To unlock Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale, you’re going to need to complete the main portion of the game and defeat the Leafling Olimar and Moss in a final Dandori Battle.

Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale is effectively post-game content and acts as a segue that can be completed alongside your primary objectives.

After you have rescued Olimar in the Hero’s Hideaway, he will be waiting by his ship, the S.S. Dolphin in the Rescue Command Post, ready to regale you with the exploits that led to his current predicament that, in effect, also brought you here.

Where to find all Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale ship parts in Pikmin 4

In total, there are 30 ship parts you need to collect in Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4. As you collect more ship parts, more areas will open up to you, before you end up at the Hero’s Hideaway, and the tutorial area of the main game.

However, you only have 15 days to collect all of these parts, and time moves faster in this mode. So, you need to put all your Dandori skills to the test and meticulously manage your Pikmin.

Below, you’ll find the locations of all the ship parts in Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale. You may need to hop back and forth between areas as you acquire new Pikmin and access to Moss, your mysterious pooch:

Sun-Speckled Terrace Ship Parts

Ship Part	Location
Automatic Gear	In the North of the map, stuck in a web close to a Puffy Blowhog. Defeat the Arachnode to destroy the web and free the gear
Extraordinary Bolt	In the North of the map. Use your Pikmin to build the climbing stick to reach it on top of the broken plant pot
Ionium Jet	Across a broken bridge in the North-West of the map. Will require 34 Raw Materials to get across
Libra	Behind some cracked pottery in the South of the map. The pottery can be destroyed with a charge from Moss
Nova Blaster	Located in the South of the map. Use 20 Yellow Pikmin to pull the bridge down and use moss to smash the pottery. Finally, defeat the Arachnode to free it from the web
Repair-Type Bolt	On a ledge in the South East. Will require 10 Yellow Pikmin to reach
Whimsical Radar	Located in the North-East of the map near the large bench

Blossoming Arcadia Ship Parts

Ship Part	Location
Automatic Gear	Found in the East of the map tucked away in a wooden structure. Throw 15 Pikmin (easier with Yellow) to reach it from the raised ground
Extraordinary Bolt 1	Found partially buried in the West of the map
Extraordinary Bolt 2	Acquired after defeating the Burrowing Snagret in the South of the map
Extraordinary Bolt 3	Behind a sprinkler in the North of the map. Use Blue Pikmin or Moss to collect it
Ionium Jet	On a ledge in the East of the map, close to where you fight the Baldy Long Legs
Omega Stabilizer	On top of an overturned blue tub in the centre of the map
Radiation Canopy	Defeat the Baldy Long Legs in the East of the map
Repair-Type Bolt	Found in the South-East of the map

Serene Shores Ship Parts

Ship Part	Location
Automatic Gear 1	Defeat the Bug-Eyed Crawmad in the North East of the map
Automatic Gear 2	Buried under sand in the West of the map
Automatic Gear 3	Behind the bubble blower in the drained pool at the top of the sand castle in the South
Bowsprit	On top of some coral in the East. Will require Blue Pikmin to collect
Extraordinary Bolt	Defeat the Grubchucker in the North of the Map. Best to use Blue Pikmin to negate water effects
Repair-Type Bolt	Buried under the sand toward the middle of the map. Will require Blue Pikmin or wait until the tide goes out
Sagittarius	Inside a Pearly Clamclamp in the West of the Map. Will require Yellow Pikmin to lower the bridge
Secret Safe	Defeat the Sovereign Bulblax at the top of the sand castle in the South

Hero’s Hideaway Ship Parts

Ship Part	Location
Automatic Gear	Use the lift to get on top of the desk in the East of the map, close to where you landed
Chronos Reactor	Defeat the Man-at-Legs on the kitchen counter in the centre of the map
Extraordinary Bolt	On a ledge in the North, close to the sink. Will require 20 Raw Materials to build the climbing wall to reach
Geiger Counter	On a plate close to the sink in the East
Interstellar Radio	Defeat the Porquillion
Pilot’s Seat	Open the safe in the West. Will require you to collect three playing cards that randomly generate the code combination
Repair-Type Bolt	In the sink in the North-East. Will require Blue Pikmin to collect

Rewards for completing Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale in Pikmin 4

For completing Olimar’s Shipwreck Tale before you run out of days, you will gain access to a new cave in the Rescue Command Post.

This cave is 10 levels of Dandori Challenges and the way for you to collect the White and Purple Onions. So, it's worth completing so that you can have a fully functional multi-coloured Onion ship.
