Pokemon BDSP Route 224: Unlocking The National Dex
The Sinnoh Pokedex consists of 150 Pokemon. While this sounds daunting, if you don't actively try and avoid every trainer and every patch of grass that you can in the game then you will likely finish the Elite Four at somewhere around 130-140 Pokemon seen. This means that you won't be too far from completing the Pokedex, and all 150 Pokemon can be seen on both versions of the game including game exclusive Pokemon.
Once you've seen the 150th Pokemon in your Pokedex you will be able to unlock the National Dex and be able to start completing it with all of the Pokemon across the first four generations of games, giving a total of 493 Pokemon.
Once you've seen all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Pokedex, head to Sandgem City and go and see Professor Rowan. As he is congratulating you Professor Oak from the first games will make an appearance. He will grant you the National Dex which will allow you to add Pokemon from the first four-generation of games to give a total of 493 Pokemon. However, most of these have to be obtained from other games by using Pokemon Home, but the functionality for it won't be added to Pokemon BDSP until February 2022.
While Professor Oak is talking to Professor Rowan he will mention Ramanas Park, which is where players can find a variety of legendary Pokemon by trading Mysterious Shard at a shop in Ramanas Park. This can be found south of Sandgem City to the east of Route 221. You can obtain a Slate that you need to summon a legendary Pokemon by trading three small Mysterious Shards or one large Mysterious Shard.
The Pokemon that can be caught at Ramanas Park are,
- Discovery Slate: Regice, Regirock, Registeel
- Kanto Slate: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres (Shining Pearl only)
- Johto Slate: Raikou, Entei, Suicune (Brilliant Diamond only)
