Whether you tune into the 2023 Pokemon World Championships or not, there's plenty to do in Pokemon GO while the festivities are happening. Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships: Dates and times

The 2023 Pokemon World Championships tournament runs three days from August 11 to 13, 2023, in Yokohama, Japan. The Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships Celebration event, however, goes a couple of days longer, beginning Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10am and ending Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 8pm local time.

Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships: Twitch Drops

The official 2023 Pokemon World Championships broadcast will drop a code for a free avatar item in Pokemon GO.

To encourage Trainers to tune into the tournament, The Pokemon Company is awarding exclusive avatar items to those that watch the action unfold on Twitch.

Randomly during the broadcast on August 11, 2023, a code for the 2023 Worlds Tee (Yellow) will be displayed. Once you spot the code, redeem it to get the T-shirt in Pokemon GO!

If you aren't available to watch the 2023 Pokemon World Championships, you can get the 2023 Worlds Tee (Gray) avatar item in the in-game shop for free.

Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships: Passimian and World Championships 2023 Pikachu Debut

Passimian and World Championships 2023 Pikachu debut in this new Pokemon GO event

As part of the 2023 Pokemon World Championships Celebration, Passimian, known as the Teamwork Pokemon, and a new costumed Pikachu will debut in Pokemon GO. World Championships 2023 Pikachu can be Shiny, but Passimian cannot.

Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships: Event Bonuses

All Trainers can enjoy the following Event Bonuses while the 2023 Pokemon World Championships Celebration event is active:

  • You can play a maximum of ten sets per day in GO Battle League, up from five sets
  • Pokemon encountered via GO Battle League rewards will have a wider contrast of Attack, Defense, and HP

Pokemon GO 2023 Pokemon World Championships: Timed Research

Timed Research themed around the 2023 Pokemon World Championships will be available for Trainers to tackle during the event. If you manage to complete the research tasks, you will get an Elite Fast TM, a guaranteed encounter with World Championships 2023 Pikachu, and more rewards.
