Charcadet is the latest Paldea-region creature to make its Pokemon GO debut, so here's how to find one and the special methods required to evolve it into Armarouge or Ceruledge.
To celebrate the US debut of Pokemon Horizons: The Series, a special celebration event is happening in Pokemon GO. The headline feature is the arrival of Characadet, the cute Fire-type creature who has two potential evolutions in the game.
How to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge
You can evolve Charcadet into Armarouge by setting it as your Buddy and defeating 30 Psychic-type Pokemon. This can be done via Raids, Team GO Rocket Battles, or Trainer Battles in the GO Battle League.
The good news is that you don't need to defeat these Psychic-type Pokemon with Characadet - it just needs to be your Buddy at the time of battle.
How to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge
You can evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge by setting it as your Buddy and defeating 30 Ghost-type Pokemon. This can be done via Raids, Team GO Rocket Battles, or Trainer Battles in the GO Battle League.
The good news is that you don't need to defeat these Ghost-type Pokemon with Characadet - it just needs to be your Buddy at the time of battle.
Regardless of whether you're after Armarouge or Ceruledge, my top tip is to simply battle a friend who has a lineup of three weak Psychic-type or Ghost-type Pokemon over and over until you've met the requirements.
How to get Charcadet in Pokemon GO
You can find Charcadet inside 2km, 5km, and 10km Eggs obtained during the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration event. It's not a guaranteed hatch, though, as other creatures are still in the Egg pool.
After the Horizons event comes to an end on March 11, 2024, you'll only be able to hatch Charcadet from 10km Eggs - so your chances of finding one will be even lower.
Can Charcadet be Shiny?
The bad news is that Shiny Characadet is currently unavailable in Pokemon GO. It will likely make its debut during a future Paldea-themed event, so keep an eye out!
