Keeping up with the latest list of Ditto disguises in Pokemon GO is key to catching the transformative blob, which is one of the trickiest creatures to find in the game.

That's because - just like Zorua - Ditto will disguise itself as one of several Pocket Monsters that you'll need to look out for on your map. Fortunately, this guide will tell you exactly which Pokemon to look out for.

Here are the current Pocket Monsters that Ditto can use as a disguise in Pokemon GO:

Pokemon Sprite
Bergmite Bergmite as they appear in Pokemon Go
Bidoof Bidoof as they appear in Pokemon Go
Goldeen Goldeen as they appear in Pokemon GO
Gothita Image of Gothita as they appear in Pokemon GO
Koffing Sprite of Koffing in Pokemon GO
Numel Pokemon GO sprite of Numel
Oddish Oddish in Pokemon Go
Rhyhorn Rhyhorn sprite in Pokemon GO
Solosis solosis sprite in pokemon go
Spinarak Spinarak in Pokemon Go
Stufful Stufful sprite in Pokemon Go

However, not every Pokemon you encounter from these lists will be a Ditto in disguise.

It's a fairly rare occurrence, so a lot of this comes down to luck. Simply catch as many of these Pokemon as you can and eventually, you'll encounter a hidden Ditto.

Some of the Ditto disguises Pokemon in GO

I've found the best times to hunt down a Ditto are during special events that have boosted disguise Pokemon spawns, like the Adamant Time event that took place from December 11 to December 15, 2023.

You can catch a Ditto anywhere on the map in Pokemon GO, but you can only find it in the form of one of the current Pokemon disguises mentioned in the list above.

What's more, you'll only know if the Pokemon is a Ditto once you've caught it.

If you've successfully caught a Ditto, an 'Oh?' text box will appear above the Poke Ball and a short animation will show the Pokemon you caught transforming back into its original purple form.

Until you've caught the disguised Pokemon, the only other way to tell if you've encountered a Ditto is by its CP being lower than the disguised Pokemon you'd normally encounter depending on your level.

It's also worth keeping an eye out for any special events that feature boosted spawns for the Pokemon that Ditto can disguise itself as, such as the yearly April Fools' Day celebrations.

The good news is that Shiny Ditto is available in Pokemon GO. When you catch a non-Shiny disguise Pokemon, it has the potential to transform into either a regular Ditto or a Shiny Ditto. The chances of getting a Shiny Ditto are very low, so don't hold your breath!

One thing to note is that if you encounter a Shiny variant of a potential disguise Pokemon, it will never turn into a Ditto. This is most likely to avoid the disappointment of Trainers encountering a Shiny Pokemon only for it to turn into a Ditto that they don't want.

That's everything you need to know about catching Ditto! For even more essentials, check out the current Raid Boss lineup, the upcoming Spotlight Hour schedule, or the best games like Pokemon GO
