Pokemon GO players are used to seeing day and night reflected in the game, but how do you know what time dusk takes place? We've got all the answers you need here.

There are several Pokemon that only evolve during the day or at night in Pokemon GO, but with the debut of Dusk Form Lycanroc, you'll now need to take dusk into account as a third time of day in the game.

When is dusk in Pokemon GO?

Similar to day and night, dusk in Pokemon GO appears to be based on your current location. This means that when you notice the sun setting in real life, it will most likely be dusk in the game as well.

For most people this will be at some point between 5pm and 8pm, so make sure you keep checking around these times. This time range will change with the seasons, so your best bet is to look outside!

If you've got a Pokemon that can only evolve at dusk, take a look at the Pokemon's page and if the symbol that looks like a setting sun has a tick next to it, you'll know it's dusk in the game and you can evolve it.

Which Pokemon can evolve at dusk?

Dusk Form Lycanroc in Pokemon GO

Right now, the only Pokemon that requires dusk time to evolve is Dusk Form Lycanroc. It's not as simple as evolving any old Rockruff at dusk, though - only specific ones will be able to evolve into this form.

You can tell if a Rockruff can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc by looking at its evolution button. If it has two options, it can become Midday Form or Midnight Form. If it only has one option, it can become Dusk Form!
