To draw attention to the US release of the new animated series, Pokemon Horizons, a limited-time celebration event is taking place in Pokemon GO.

The Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration event offers Trainers an opportunity to catch Pokemon and interact with characters from the series. So, without further ado, let's dive into the details of the game's latest affair, the Horizons: The Series Celebration event!

Pokemon GO Horizons event dates & times

The Pokemon Horizons: The Series celebration kicks off on March 5, 2024, at 10AM local time and ends on March 11, 2024, at 8PM local time.

This means Trainers can partake in the festivities for a whole week, with plenty of new features to enjoy.

Pokemon debuting in the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event

New Pokemon debut

A slew of new Pokemon will debut with the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event, including Charcadet and its evolutions, Armarogue and Ceruledge.

There's also a new costumed Pokemon, Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat, which can be Shiny!

Event Bonuses

Team GO Rocket balloons will appear with increased frequency during the event, and Trainers can also enjoy double XP for hatching Pokemon.

Surprise encounters

If you take a snapshot during the event, you may encounter characters and Pokemon from Pokemon Horizons: The Series.

Featured attacks

If you happen to capture a Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat during the Horizons event, it'll know the Charged Attack Volt Tackle.

Some of the Pokemon and characters you can encounter in the Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event

Wild encounters

The Pokemon listed below will regularly appear in the wild during the Horizons event:

  • Scyther
  • Nosepass
  • Sprigatito
  • Fuecoco
  • Quaxly
  • Pawmi
  • Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat
  • Alolan Grimer
  • Beldum

Of these Pokemon, Scyther, Nosepass, Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat, Alolan Grimer, and Beldum are the only ones that can be Shiny.

Field Research task encounters

The Horizons event will feature special event-themed research tasks. Completing these tasks will net encounters with the following Pokemon:

  • Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat
  • Golduck
  • Skarmory
  • Rockruff
  • Sprigatito
  • Fuecoco
  • Quaxly

Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat, Skarmory, and Rockruff can all be Shiny.

Eggs

During the Horizons event, you can hatch Charcadet from 2km, 5km, and 10km Eggs. However, when the event ends, Charcadet will become exclusive to 10km Eggs.

Charcadet aside, all the usual Pokemon that can hatch from Eggs in World of Wonders may also hatch from Eggs during the Horizons event

Raids

These Pokemon will serve as Raid Bosses during the Horizons event:

One-Star Raids

  • Pikachu wearing Cap’s hat
  • Rhyhorn
  • Rockruff

Three-Star Raids

  • Chansey
  • Noctowl
  • Metagross

Besides Noctowl and Metagross, these Raid Bosses can appear in their Shiny variants, but only if you're lucky!
